There are such records: at first sight, it seems they got nothing special, but you like them to death! And little by little, you disclosed hidden gems, sophisticated bridges, played in the most natural way: that's the Blues, too. Riley & Corritore cut it to the bone: raw, down-home Blues with some breathless guitar + harp combination. While Riley cooks the stew, Corritore is a train that you can't stop. This's a record you may love for a long time ahead.

This is real authentic Delta and Chicago blues played the way it should be.
You will be hard pressed to find a better album than this one except maybe their follow on release. In many ways they are better known in Europe than at home in the US. The only thing better is to see them live. Highly recommended. |
