About the Author

Jay Brunhouse writes a monthly column for "International Travel News" on train travel and received the Lowell Thomas Award for the Best Land Travel Article in 1986. In addition, he is the author of "The Maverick Guide to Berlin". Brunhouse's various travel features have appeared in Los Angeles Times, New York Times, Chicago Tribune as well as many others.
