About the Author

Prior to her work as a meditation trainer, Patricia Leva, R.N., M.A., was a professional nursing practitioner in several Midwest & west coast hospitals & medical centers in the US where she carried out clinical work on neurological, neurosurgical, obstetrical, surgical & pediatric units. Most recently she was a an educator and trainer for internationally known Monroe Institute in Virginia for over a decade. Leva received a Masters of Arts degree in adult education at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. In private practice since 1982, she has owned a service agency originating as a management & organizational development consultancy in Erie, Pennsylvania & later in Cleveland, Ohio. She has been a member of the International Society for the Study of Subtle Energies & Energetic Medicine (ISSSEEM) & has held several offices in the Greater Cleveland & Erie chapters of American Society for Training & Development (ASTD) & an author of two ASTD regional newsletters. Her current work is referenced in Ultimate Journey by Robert Monroe (Doubleday) & in Using the Whole Brain: Integrating the Right & Left Brain With Hemi-Sync Sound Patterns edited by Ronald Russell (Hampton Roads) plus numerous magazines and journals. Leva’s second book focused on the out-of-body experience using commissioned brain mapping research will be released in 2001. Rather than being a teacher, Leva calls herself an Evocateer who stimulates an individual’s natural learning process focused on the larger picture of life.

This book is a must have for any serious explorer of altered states of consciousness. Drawing on a wealth of personal experience, Patricia Leva explains in clear, easy to read language the use of Hemi-Sync technology. Any one familiar with the work of Robert Monroe will find this "manual" a valuable aid to their own explorations. Included in the book are real life experiences of other travelers sharing their very interesting and inspiring stories. This is not an "about" book, this is a "How To" book. I highly recomend this book to any any person desiring to explore more deeply the possibilities inherent in Hemi-Sync technologies.

This book is required reading for any person desiring to utilize Hemi-Sync technology to access altered conciousness states. It clearly explains the different focus states, and how to achieve and recognize them. Ms. Leva uses very easy to understand metaphors, allowing folks not familiar with works from Oudspensky, Gurdjieff, Castaneda to become aware of these different levels of conciousness. The book is very well organized, printed on good quality paper, and will be a an asset to any reader's library of literature on Metaphysical exploration. Her life's experience of exploration is shared openly and concisively.

A scattered, spacey, self-indulgent book full of irrelevant information. For a well-written, grounded, and inspiring overview of the Hemi-Sync path, Bruce Moen has written a series of superb books.
