Don't really know how to feel about this guide,

This review is from: Travellers Budapest (Travellers - Thomas Cook) (Paperback)
I chose the Thomas Cook Budapest guide because these guides seem to assume an intelligent traveller, and I had very good luck with the same publisher's guide to Krakow. I also appreciate the smaller scope of these single-city guides. While I still appreciated the familiar maps, suggeted walks, and the detailed descriptions of points of interest, I thought this book was disorganized comepared to other guides. For example, descriptive sections on neighborhoods and attractions were printed apart from relevant maps and walks. This book begins by describing Buda, then shows you walks in Pest -- a bizarre choice by the editor. I spent a lot of time flipping around this book searching for something: "I know I've seen that in here". Kind of frustrating. I do think it provided a lot of information, and left me wanting more time to visit palces we didn't get to, so it did a good job of getting me excited to see the city.
