An outstanding book which conveys the beauty & grace of sound through its words, quotations, exquisite photography and artistic arrangement of word and image. For this reason, this makes an excellent gift book. This book is experiential and right-brain. It suggests various truths about sound, then asks the reader to go try out exercises for herself. Conversely, the accompanying CD is pretty much filled with dialogue, which may interfere with the experience of listening to the sounds themselves. Although, of course, the voice too is sound and if you like guided musical experience, the CD is excellent.

The book features a fairly good bibliography if you want to learn more. To supplement this book with a more intellectually satisfying approach, see "Eastern Body Western Mind" by Anodea Judith ~ read the chapter about the fifth (throat) chakra. Also, Judith includes an outstanding bibliographic array of works on sound and vibrational healing.

Occasionally a book comes along that seems to speak to the Soul. It does not "teach," it reminds us of ancient knowledge that we have never lost, only forgotten.
Deborah's research on the use of sound for healing and transformation is extensive and far-reaching, revealing to us what the Ancients knew - that matter is indeed "frozen music."
Whether you are currently involved with therapeutic sound or not, this book will make you want to try the techniques described, which despite their immense power, are totally accessible.
As physically beautiful as it is practically valuable, TRAVELLING THE SACRED SOUND CURRENT will undoubtedly take its place as one of the most important books on reclaiming our Divine Heritage in the coming years.
Used in tandem with the accompanying CD, this book can literally change your life.

Be advised that when you buy this book, you will not find the companion CD or accompanying CD in the back of the book. You will not find an internet address to download the sounds. You will find an order form in the back of the book to order the CD for $16.95 plus shipping costs. Try pronouncing the mantra "Bhargo Devasya Dheemahi Dhiyo Yo Nah Prachodayaat" without an audio clip.
