I originally bought this bag for my upcoming overseas trip; however, after using it for a while, it's now my go-to bag! It's very well organized with three openings that have locking mechanisms. There is also a side pocket on each side of the bag; one side can hold a 16 oz water bottle (or even a 20 oz soda bottle but may need to squeeze in), the other side can hold cell phone, Blackberry, or iPhone. A magnetic flap is the only thing holding it down here, so it can be stolen. You may want to put it inside the bag where it's more secure and yes, there's a place for it inside the bag!

This bag is lighter than I expected. It's slash proof (with chain link) and the strap is cut proof (with wire insert). It's very well made with a lot of details but very simple in design. Carrying this bag in a crowded place is one less thing for me to worry about pickpockets. All in all, a great bag to have. Highly recommended!

PS - I also own Travelon's anti-theft backpack which is lot roomier and with all the same safety features.

Good luck to any pickpocket trying to get into this bag. Not only do you have the slash proof shell and the adjustable cut proof strap, the zipper locks were hard to open, which is exactly what I wanted. Of course, you do not have to lock every zipper, just the important ones. This bag, along with my RFID wallet, will make my traveling worry free.

I'm an 80-year-old grandma preparing for a sight-seeing trip to Rome with family. In case my arthritis begins to slow us down, I plan to take a folding cane in my bag, along with the other essentials.

Upon first receiving the Travelon Anti-theft Messenger Bag, I found it was not tall enough to zip when holding my folding cane. I searched for a replacement with the same great features but a few inches taller, the Messenger bag being about 11." The Travelon Anti-theft Travel Bag is represented as 20" x 5" x 14," so this was my next order.

Unfortunately, this bag is only 10" tall, 8" wide, and about 3" deep at the bottom. I'm very disappointed to have to be returning merchandise that was advertised incorrectly. A large Tour Bag that was on my wish list has now been removed from Amazon's offerings, so the search continues.

If you are looking for a large travel bag, don't be fooled by the dimensions given for this one.

I really like this purse. I use it every day. All the anti-theft features work very well as advertised, though thankfully it's never been tested. The length of the strap is great and the pockets all open well. The back pocket has issues when I close it - it comes with a somewhat unnecesary connector on each side, I suppose to keep the flap from opening too much? It gets stuck in the zipper and I've torn it once already getting it unstuck. There is some general wear and tear that is unexpected after only six or so months of light daily use. The water bottle pocket is useless because the water bottle slips out, there's nothing to secure it in place. The phone holder is too short for the iPhone 5 and is not very secure. The purse could have been a little deeper to allow a bit more storage. I'm not as happy with this as I was with my last Travelon purse and would not recommend it given the high price. Perhaps if it were maybe $25 instead I would be happier to recommend it. It feels much more like a $25 purse.

It had a few nice features, but the top compartment was too shallow to carry important stuff like passports and credit cards (for which it was obviously designed), and the lining material was so flimsy it could almost be pulled inside-out when removing an item. Back it went to Amazon, and I got the the similar-sized PacSafe instead. The PacSafe didn't have the nice little compartments inside, but I've been able to outfit it to meet my needs, and it feels far better constructed -- plus the pockets are deep enough so the items inside remain unexposed when the bag is open. Like all bags, this is probably simply a matter of personal preference.

It was a nice bag, just too small for me to carry my IPad which was the purpose of buying it.

I checked out a number of anti-theft bags for a trip overseas and settled on two from Travelon to order and check out--this is the one I'm keeping. It's light (under a pound), is made from a nylon material that will be forgiving of bumps and rubs and will wash off easily, and has all the safety features I was looking for (anti-slash strap & body, RFID protection, locking zippers). There is more space inside than appeared at first and I was surprised how much I could fit. I plan on keeping a notebook, phone, travel guide, the toiletries I always carry (brush, lipstick, bandaids) and maybe a sweater in there. I like the water bottle holders on the side, meaning that won't take up valuable room on the inside. I'm not used to a cross body, so I was worried about that adjustment, but after three days of wearing while touring, I'm comfortable and like that its not too bulky in front even when filled.

Travelone Anti-Theft Travel Bag. The way it is designed, everything is protected on the inside, however you have quick access to your cell phone. Would use as a purse! Great thinking!

We bought two of these for a trip to southern Italy (the travel guides are rather insistent on pickpocket / bag grab problems). The bags held up well to airline security and 10-ish hour flights, as well as to two weeks 'on the ground' with daily usage. One half of us is continuing to use the bag as a 'daily carrier'.

The bags are reasonably attractive but don't call much attention to themselves. The mobile phone pocket was useful as was the water bottle pocket (though we rarely used it for that). The three inner compartments are "pretty decent", though the one which has slots for credit cards, et al, would be better if it were deeper. The "main" pocket was plenty large enough for glasses, a camera, and a tour book. The "secondary" (not the credit card area) is smaller, but still had plenty of room for a compact flashlight, a compass, a voice recorder, spare batteries, and the like.

Adjustment of the strap is generous - we were each able to fit it to our liking.

It is cumbersome to operate the clips which hold the zippers closed. We found that we tended to leave the credit card area clipped, but not the other two.

One area in which the bag could be immensely improved would be the addition of an outside pocket. Yes, this is a security bag, but when navigating airports it would be really nice to have a convenient, easily-accessible location for boarding passes. Likewise, an external pocket would be useful for maps and as a stash for various (e.g., museum) tickets purchased during the day.

In conclusion, we would certainly recommend this bag - as long as the potential buyer understands its quirks.

I really like this purse. It has nice material. The zippers do clamp shut if you want to do that. The material label said it is slash proof and the handle can't be cut. The first pocket is nice. I put my camera and mp3 player in that. The second holds your credit cards and passport. It has a place to put an ink pen. The last zipper opens the big pocket. My Kindle fits in it plus my other purse stuff.
The side holds a 16 ounce bottle of water. The other side holds a phone, flip phone size. If you have a bigger phone, put it inside.
It does not weight much. It even comes with a little flash light in the section that holds your credit cards.
