5.0 out of 5 stars Saves me from demagnatizing my hotel key
OK so maybe demagnatizing isn't a word. But it is a problem. I have an IPhone that likes to kill every hotel key I'm issued and I am constantly stopping at the front desk to have my key refreshed - or if I forget, going up to my room only to realize its happened again and back I go to the front desk. This Wallet kills 2 birds with one stone. I can put the passport into...

3.0 out of 5 stars it's a little small for international passport
It's a nicely made case. Assume there are metal material lined inside, the case is well padded. However, it's a bit too small for international passports.

I can put the passport into the wallet in an open position so I don't have to remove it from the Wallet at customs or security, saving time as we all race to juggle our ID's and take off our shoes. And then I slip my new hotel key into the wallet and it does indeed keep it fresh as well as provide a secure place so I always know where I stashed the room key - I even keep the key folder here so I can remember what room I am in today. Also a bit more stylish - I have the wine cover and it is easy to find in my dark purse or briefcase interiors.

4.0 out of 5 stars A bit tight for space, October 8, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The case is very tightly made, there is virtually no room for anything beyond the minimum of a passport and two or three credit cards, before it starts looking bulky but it works well (I think). I had forgotten about the fact that you need to put this case in your carry-on luggage and through the x-ray machine so the body scanner kept going off as I walked through it with the case in my hand. The security agent didn't know about it either because even after I had removed literally everything metal there was still beeping. Only after I put it in my bag did the machine clear me. The agent still didn't realize what could have caused the machine to react to my passport case, but by then I vaguely remembered reading an Amazon review mentioning it... The case looks nice and feels like a decent quality, nothing special, yet worth the money.

First, after reading a few reviews and the product description I honestly wasn't convinced it actually provided RFID blocking, so I went and tested it by putting an RFID card in it, closing it, and trying to get an RFID reader to read it. No dice, so in this reviewer's experience, it works as advertised.

Beyond that, it is almost the same size as a passport. The good news is that it isn't bulky in your pocket and isn't much bigger than if you just had your passport alone (as far as width and height). The downside is that putting a passport or credit card into the wallet is a tight fit. Your passport has to be completely tucked in for the wallet to close. And it is a bit rigid, making it feel bigger in your pocket than a comparable soft wallet.

For the card slots, the leather may relax a bit over time, but I have found that more than 3 to 4 credit cards (or ID cards, license, etc.) isn't very practical with this wallet. Inserting and removing cards is challenging. And the card slot furthest from the edge is slightly deeper and allows your credit card or driver's license to completely vanish under the leather, making its retrieval something you'll wish you had tools for.

If your wallet is, as my previous one was, a repository for all things you might need from passport to credit cards to business cards to place to store receipts after dinner, you'll either want to skip this one or reconsider if having more than three kinds of Visa cards on you at all times is really necessary. But for carrying a passport and a couple of basic items and blocking RFID from reaching those things, this gets the job done nicely.

4.0 out of 5 stars No more fishing for Passport, May 28, 2009

The RFID blocking sold this to me. And the red color is amazing, I can find my passport no problem in a dark bag, in a dark drawer. At most borders I will be asked to remove my passport but that is a small price to pay for the luxurious feel of this passport wallet.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Product, Tight Fit, But Sleek Look., April 23, 2011

This review is from: Travelon RFID Blocking Passport Case (Apparel)
I have not been able to check the RFID-blocking capabilities of this device, and reading other reviews I cannot see anyone else that has.

But as for the looks, the holder has aesthetics which combine uniqueness and style at a much higher level than one would anticipate at this price point.

The passport itself is a tight fit and the holder wouldn't stay closed until I left a heavy book on top of it overnight. I have the standard 26 page passport, I don't know how the expanded 52 page US passport would fair in this holder, but mine fit snugly.

I have already recommended this brand and device to at least 10 others in the past week, and I will do the same here.

Maybe someone has the equipment to check the effectiveness of the RFID-blocking?

5.0 out of 5 stars Keep your identity safe, January 13, 2011

After seeing a news program where a man with less than $100 of electronic equipment was able to walk through an airport and electronically steal all the information from travelers credit cards and passports just by walking near them (he never touched them in any way) I thought I need to do something to protect my self not just when traveling, but anywhere, so I bought this item. It has lots of room for your passport and ALSO credit cards. Now-a-days you can't be too safe. It's an inexpensive way to keep you identity sescure.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice case., September 5, 2010

Good fit for passport and credit cards. It has room for some cash too. Best part: just the right size to fit in my front pocket (I have good size pockets).

It also arrived quickly and in a timely fashion.

5.0 out of 5 stars Blocking Passport Case, May 5, 2011

This is a great item as it blocks any attempt to lift information from your passport. The same people make a wallet that blocks the ability to steal info from your credit cards. Both items are excellent.

I purchased my Travelon RFID Blocking Passport Case, Wine. In Dec.2010. I gave it 4 stars because? RFID; So Far, So Good.

I also like the look and feel of the case.
