4.0 out of 5 stars Perfect to dry clothes for travel
Like many reviewers, I used this on a trip to Europe. I was travelling for about a month. I was armed with both these hangars, as well as a Rick Steves Clothesline, White. 3.0 out of 5 stars Almost impossible to inflate!
Like another reviewer, we took these hangers to Italy, and they worked great -- once we got them inflated. It was a true fight, because the material sticks to itself after being tightly packed in a suitcase. I hadn't read the review about opening up the mouthpiece with a scissor before purchasing the item. For future use, we will have to purchase a small hand pump.

Like many reviewers, I used this on a trip to Europe. I was travelling for about a month. I was armed with both these hangars, as well as a Rick Steves Clothesline, White. Both of them served their purposes. The clothesline was great when I needed small, lighter things to try, and a good number of them. But sometimes, those heavier weight fabrics waned to take forever to dry on a clothesline. This hangar can open up shirts a bit and provide more space for airflow. It did make the shirts dry quite a bit faster. I did try hanging a pair of lightweight pants on them, and it worked, but I think it was about on par with the drying time of the clothesline. The two little hooks on the bottom came in handy for things like women's bathing suit pieces, etc. Unlike other reviewers, I did not have a problem with the bite valve. It operates just like any other blow-up device i have ever used. Overall, I wouldn't want to travel on a long trip without it, but if it were between this and the clothesline, I would bring the clothesline.

4.0 out of 5 stars Serves its purpose well, April 10, 2009

I bought this set of 2 to travel to Italy and they pack pretty well and are sturdy, thick plastic, so you don't need to worry about puncturing them. They were a little hard to blow up and deflate because you have to bite or squeeze the valve to allow the air in or out (a lot like a beach ball), but they stayed inflated and didn't have any weird edges to make the clothes dry strangely. I didn't try to dry any pants on the lower rung, I only used them for shirts. A really wet pair of mens jeans might make the hanger flex to not hold its shape. Overall, I was pleased and will use them again.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't bother . . . money down the drain!, September 1, 2011

These hangers are IMPOSSIBLE to inflate without a pump and therefore defeat the purpose of taking up a small amount of space in your travel bag. I recently went on a trip and just left them home. I should have believed others whose reveiws indicated this fact

4.0 out of 5 stars HOW TO INFLATE, September 14, 2010
This review is from: Travelon Set of 2 Inflatable Hangers (Apparel)
These are a great idea but I wish I had read the reviews on how hard they are to inflate. The inner part of the valve seems totally closed so it seems you have to get a pair of scissors or knife to puncture the valve and do that without puncturing the hangar itself. Not an easy task and why should it have to be that way? Then I discovered how to do it. What you have to do is squeeze the blow valve HARD between your thumb and index finger as you are inflating it. A tiny set of directions on the box would be helpful. Made in China.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great design alternative, December 23, 2009

The idea of inflatable hangers for travel is great. The intent is to hold open shirts so that airflow can get inside to help them dry faster. The main problem with the standard design is that they are typically very difficult to inflate and deflate and they don't work well with anything other than shirts. The Travelon hanger offers an alternative design that we consider a major improvement. The hangers inflate and deflate easily and there is a bar with 2 clips at the bottom that lets you hang other laundry items to dry. We've ordered more to replace our original travel hangers.

I have purchased two previous models of blow-up hangers, but was really not satisfied with either of them. This product is really great. It is no problem to inflate if you squeeze the valve very firmly. The best feature is that it stays inflated because the little valve reseals the opening. In addition, the material is sturdier than the other products. A real winner for Travelon.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very helpful!, June 5, 2011

When I travel I like to unpack my clothes and get rid of the suitcase-induced wrinkles. These worked perfectly. Also, because you can hang pants and a shirt on one hanger, you can use these to pair up your outfits as you unpack.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not reliable, April 23, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I purchased these hangers to take on a trip to Austria. After my luggage failed to arrive, I was glad I had packed them in my carry-on. The plastic hanger ripped off the inflatable portion the first time I hung a shirt to dry. The second hanger worked fine and was used throughout the remainder of the trip.

I both these and agree, until I cut the plastic inside the blowhole I could not blow these up. I carefully but thru with a pair of sharp pointed scissor sand now can blow up these hangers. My old eyes, however didn't see the bottom had hooks instead of clamps. I wish there where clamps because not everything can hang from hooks to dry.
