5.0 out of 5 stars STURDY AS A ROCK
I've been buying Travelpro for years, as I fly all over Latin America and the US. This particular piece will fit in an overhead bin and move easily down aisles. On a long wait in Lima, I used it as a portable chair and used the metal handles as a backrest.

The luggage is quite rugged, and many flight attendants, etc. use the brand. I easily get 4-5 years...

I travel weekly for work. I bought this bag to replace my 5 year old Atlantic (Travel Pros sister brand). This bag is of significantly lower build quality. In 1 years time, I've broken one handle and working on my second. The handle positioning tabs are plastic and break. Additionally, the handle just isn't that sturdy.

It also has a balance issue. My Atlantic never fell over on my, this one will from the wind generated by a butterfly.

Many of the zipper tabs have broken off.

The wheels fail quickly. This isn't a big deal as they can be replace with any rollerblade wheel.

The expansion bits are on the bag side, not the door side, which makes the bag difficult to close if you're cramming things in there.

On the plus side, it's not black, which means I can spot it anywhere and the luggage handlers reach for it sooner.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Quality and durability, September 23, 2009

I have been looking for the perfect travel case for my presentation material and I finally found it. My previous case's roller handle had broken and I was looking for a replacement. I knew Travelpro was a good name but I had never owned one before. Now I know what I was missing. This rollaboard is very durable and very well designed in every way. The outside zip around pockets are perfect and the roller bars and handle are bigger and sturdier than any other similar case. I highly recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gorgeous, well made -- and water resistant, March 19, 2010

Wow what a gorgeous and well made suitcase!

The fabric is stylish and much more durable looking than other suitcases I've owned (last 2 were Samsonite). The handle is incredibly solid compared to other suitcases I've used. Maneuverability is excellent and I like the non-tipping feature, as well as the wheel guards -- again, sets this apart from others I've owned.

I am especially appreciative of the water resistance feature. I've had suitcase contents get soaked on past trips to Europe, which is always a downer when one reaches one's destination! I realize this isn't waterproof, but every bit helps -- and this is the first suitcase I've ever seen that specifically mentions resistance to moisture.

Other features I like -- the zippers are very solid and sturdy. I like that there's one small and one big exterior pocket on the front -- the variety is nice. The interior pockets are very well designed as well -- several different sizes and lots of them.

You have to be a really good packer to use this bag -- it's compact -- but it has so much functionality that packing will be a breeze.

Cannot rec this bag enough!

I've been using TravelPro gear for years -- beat the crap out of it and it keeps going. Just got this one a month ago, and so far it is holding up great. Good choices on zippers and pockets, roomy for its size, not too heavy, and fits in the overhead bin.

I always admire luggage made by Travel Pro, especially for crew. But I bought this as a gift and in less than a month the handle broke off. I am very disappointed with his product and would not recommend to anyone. I will try another brand Maybe Kenneth Cole ot Samsonite........

spending a fair amount of time on the road for work I had gone through 3 cheaper bags. Finally decided to try something a little sturdier. Have not looked back.

5.0 out of 5 stars Travelpro Crew 7: Why do other brands exist?, August 16, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Travelpro Crew 7 20" Rollaboard was purchased as a gift for someone who found the 22" just a bit of a pain to lift into the overhead compartment. It's a Travelpro: need to say more? The other brands exist to keep Travelpro honest by trying new fads and provide pricing competition. Want proof? Count the airline crewmembers using something other than Travelpro.

I am a devoted user and fan of the Travelpro Crew series. This case is excellently constructed, just too small for my needs. I opted for the Crew 7 22" case which, for me is perfect for what I want.
