This works great for my purposes. The length is perfect for mainline United aircraft overhead bins, where it fits lengthwise. The larger front pocket will hold my 14" laptop while it is in it's sleeve, which is very handy for airport security. The suit folder will hold a suit and a sportcoat. In order to drop the weight vs. the regular weight model the shell inside the outer fabric is light plastic. I expect this would not hold up well as checked baggage, but if you plan to carry-on and want the lighter weight (which is what I was looking for), then this is a good choice. The dual handle position is handy and the "long" setting accommodates my height (6' 1") well, so I'm not kicking the bag as I pull it behind.

This bag is super light AND durable. I travel every week for work and take both a regional jet and larger planes to accommodate the bag in the overhead bin. This bag fits perfect overhead in MD80 and the 757. And is getting it's workout from the regional jets by courtesy of the gate-check.

I shopped for weeks trying to find a piece of luggage that was good quality without an outrageous price tag. The WalkAbout fit the bill quite well. I would have given it 5 stars if it was set up for a tablet. My 15" Powerbook fits nicely in the outside pocket, but I hardly bring that with me anymore, now I mainly carry an iPad, but the pocket is a little deep for it.

It fits well in all the overhead bins thus far.

I was forced by an airline to check my bag, they overbooked the flight and their was no overhead space left. They broke a zipper pull, and it was the day after my initial purchase. I was very disappointed until I called Travelpro. The very first person I spoke with said it was not a problem, I could take it to my local dealer and they could repair it for me, but she also said she would send out some new pulls just in case it happens again. I had the new pulls at home before my trip was even over, so I did the repair myself.

So that might be one more suggestion for Travelpro, make the pull tabs so that they tuck in against the bag when checking. Less likely to get broken by mishandling from the airlines.

I will be buying more pieces to go along with this one for my next trip.

This bag actually does not topple over when full and set to stand up. Great quality, strong, and durable. The handle has a couple stops so you don't have to extend it completely.

I've made four business trips with this carry-on suiter that lasted 3 nights, and I love this piece. It is very light, has inline wheels to maximize space and storage, and the suiter portion works quite well. Yes, it would be nice if the entire suiter was detachable for quick storage, but I think it works very well and my suits have been hanging out nicely. I do not plan on checking this piece of luggage as I have another, larger bag for that purpose, so I durability is fine for carry-on. The zippers seem sturdy and have a smooth action that hasn't gotten stuck for me yet.

My only concern is the extending handle, which seems flimsy. Generally, I rest my arm on this piece (for security, etc) while waiting around the airport and I've found it can fall out of "track." I'm not talking leaning with my body weight on the handle; just setting my palm or wrist on it which causes the wobbling. A very minor concern, but I'm just trying to be thorough.

For the money, I would definitely buy this luggage again.

With each new model Travelpro gets progressively worse. My 15 yr old bag is still going strong after many yrs of tough biz travel. My new walkabout lite 4 is a piece of trash -- quality probs out of the box compounded by outside fabric eroding down to white after one plane trip! TO BE AVOIDED.

Really good price for a quality piece of luggage. The suiter is very handy. I got the blue and think it looks great.

I expected a suiter that can be separated from the bag just like the earlier version of the Walkabout which I already own. But this removable suited is integrated in the bag which means when you zip it out, you are only zipping out 2/3rds of the suiter and it no longer functions as a suiter. It just allows you to use the bag without a suited.

Great size and seems pretty sturdy. The fabric on the luggage did not stain the way my last one did. I have only used it twice, but so far it is a nice piece of luggage for a reasonable price.

Have taken a dozen trips with it so far. Has held up well. I checked the wheels and had to tight one a bit. Have not needed to check the bag as it fits on almost all overhead compartments. For the smaller planes, I have checked it on the jetway. Does not tip over easily (assuming you pack your heaviest stuff at the bottom). Real test will come after 100 trips and two years of use.
