4.0 out of 5 stars Travelpro Platinum 5 is nice, but....
I've had other Travelpro products and while the quality is always excellent (I still have a bag that is over ten years old and has seen thousand of miles, that just needs the wheels replaced due to some nasty cobblestone streets in Europe) I am disappointed in the re-design on this bag. I liked the fact that the old hanging garment area was attached to the bag - it was...

I am a legitimate road warrior who travels weekly and counts on rollaboard luggage to stand up to my level of punishment. I happily used the previous edition of the TravelPro platinum rollaboard for 3 plus years and was delighted with weight, storage features and particularly the extending handle that made a remarkable difference in how my shoulders and arms felt after going from one end of O'Hare to teh other end of Miami airports. The bag finally broke (handle) and I promptly bought another one. I was disappointed to see that the new bag's extending handle had been made much flimsier in the interest of weight. after just two months of use I already am seeing looseness and instability. Not good for a top of the line bag from a reputable company. Am already looking for a replacement bag that can stand up to my schedule.

4.0 out of 5 stars Travelpro Platinum 5 is nice, but...., May 19, 2008
I've had other Travelpro products and while the quality is always excellent (I still have a bag that is over ten years old and has seen thousand of miles, that just needs the wheels replaced due to some nasty cobblestone streets in Europe) I am disappointed in the re-design on this bag. I liked the fact that the old hanging garment area was attached to the bag - it was easier to pack than the completely separate piece in the new model. I also don't like the mechanism to "hang" a second bag onto the luggage. It doesn't adjust in length, so I cannot properly hang my briefcase on it (it's too short, so when I let go of the bag, the entire bag drops over in the opposite direction). The actual hanging mechasim is also awkward so getting the briefcase on and off is difficult and I often find myself having to use two hands. With the old strap, I just pressed both sides of the clip and my briefacase was released. Other than that, the bag is great. A place to put your shoes, the expandability and exterior pockets are all a dream.

4.0 out of 5 stars Travel pro suitcase, May 27, 2008
I am happy with this suitcase. This is my second travelpro and they stand up well. I was surprised that the inside dimensions seemed smaller than my previous 22" rollaboard. They are the same but the new handle takes up some interior space.

5.0 out of 5 stars Travelpro 5 22" Expandable Rollaboard Suiter, May 9, 2009

The Travelpro 5 line of luggage is well made and well designed. The 22" Expandable Rollaboard Suiter is no exception. It's light but strongly made and easily fits in and airplane's carry-on storage space. It carries enough clothing and other stuff for a long weekend.
