After much study I bought this carry-on Travelpro Walkabout Lite 3. I have used it ouly once, traveling to Spain in 2010; it handled the cobblestone streets of Cordoba very well. The side pocket, meant to be a water bottle holder, was not functional, due to a manufacturing defect. I ignored this since I didn't think it would be useful anyway.

I like the two outside pockets on the front; the large one is big enough for my coat & hat, slipped in at the last minute before checking the bag. The small pocket holds bungie cords which I use to attach my small carry-on bag to the rolling bag.

The inside dimensions are 19" x 14" x 7". which is smaller than I had expected. But by expanding the lid I'm able to carry all the garments I need for a fortnight. The expansion gives you about 30% more room. Inside there are only two straps and two small mesh pockets -- you'll have to organize the interior as you wish.

The wheels look sturdy and the zippers feel like they'll last a long time. Since the bag looks like most others, I decorated it with colorful ribbons for identification. The bag stands well on its own legs and is easy to pull or push through airport terminals. Well placed handles make it easy to load. In short, it is the best bag I've ever used!

My old Atlantic luggage is beat after many years of good service. Prerequisites for replacements were that the bags be light, functional, and well-constructed. I looked at a number of luggage sets, but didn't need a wheeled duffle, tote bag, and some of the sizes were not quite right. Purchasing a la carte seemed like a better idea, so I went with the Travelpro Walkabout Lite 3 in 20", 22", and 26". The bags were eligible for free return, so no problems returning them if I wasn't satisfied. But no worries on that--the bags exceeded my expectations. The 20" is perfectly sized to fit into overhead compartments. Though durable, these bags are much lighter than my old Atlantic suitcases. Zippers are heavy duty and made to expand the bag to accommodate all your new vacation purchases. The wheels are large and recessed so not likely to break off when tossed around by the baggage handlers. The hunter green color with the gray zippers is attractive and much easier to recognize at the baggage return. I expect these bags to last for many years to come.

Ordered this bag new from Amazon, my second TravelPro from them (the other is a 22" Crew 7). The bag itself is not quite as nice as the Crew bag I have - but for ~$100 less than the 20" equivalent of that model, well worth it. The wheels are to last 58 miles per the brochure included with the bag - quite a lot of miles for the infrequent traveller. As stated by other reviewers, the water bottle holder is kind of useless as its intended purpose - but worked great to put my phone and wallet in during the XRay scan.

Would like to comment on Amazon's shipment of this - they sent me a returned one (RMA label still on the box) with all of the accessories missing and "miles" on the wheels. They need to do a better job checing returned items to see if they're missing things or used before they resell it again as NEW.

This items was not as advertised, and because of such created a lot of extra effort. Amazon advertises as a feature that the removable suit folding system is included in this model. IT IS NOT!

The first time we ordered this we assumed it was a missing part, and worked to exchange it for a new one. I LOVE Amazon's customer service. For as much trouble as it was, it was the least trouble I could have probably gone through for this type of issue. However, the second one came and it was the same thing! We were confused, because other sites also mentioned in their reviews of the product that the Walkabout Lite 3 series ALL come with this feature. It finally took me looking up the manufacturers repair catalog to get the real facts. Bottom line is that this size in the series does NOT come with that added feature. (Even the tag on the item would leave you to believe it would be there when you open the suitcase up!)

Based on that I opted to upgrade to the 22" size that does have this feature and returned the 20".

However, while this specific model does not have that feature it is a fantastic suitcase nonetheless if you want something smaller than a 22" and don't care about the suit folding system, which is why I still give it 5 stars. As far as suitcases go it has great wheels, great little features, the handle moves smoothly, and the zippers where like butter.

I am not going to mark down the rating of this product because it was not as I expected overall. But buyers should be warned if you read the description and follow suit. In the event that you aren't sure it will be what you expect, buy from Amazon and sleep easy at night. They are the top dog in my book when it comes to customer service!

I read the reviews on Amazon before purchasing, which warned that the suitcase couldn't stand upright without leaning against a wall. I'm happy to report this was, at best, an exaggeration. The suitcase does naturally stand at an odd angle, seemingly by design, and so is slightly more likely to fall when bumped than a traditional roll-aboard would be. But it does stand, and does so more easily when packed than when empty. One other minor complaint about scuffed knuckles on the top handle is fair, but can be resolved by pulling on the handle with a little bit of extra caution.

Everything else about the suitcase is great, from the mesh pockets and sturdy lining to the long handle. At half the price of similarly sized TravelPro bags, it's a steal.

Just back from two weeks with this bag - sturdy and held a lot of stuff, but also fit easily into the overhead compartment. One two flights, I watched other carry-ons pulled out of line for checking at the gate, but this one was never questioned. Sturdy handle and the hook provided to piggy back a tote (or whatever) was very secure, although it did pop off while I was shoving the bag into the overhead - so watch for that. (The flip side is it's not hard to remove when needed - and no problem other than in the overhead.) A great value for a nice little bag.

This is a nice bag at a nice price.
Lots of room inside, useful pockets outside, strong zippers and a great two height telescoping handle that suits my 5'2" wife and my 6'5" self. Smooth rolling replaceable wheels. Nothing to complain about....

I was worried about this suitcase falling over based on other reviews. They must have changed the design - mine is fine. I love the nice long handle - I'm 6-2 and it doesn't hit my heels like my old suitcase. It fits well in the overhead, even when it is in "expanded" configuration. The water bottle holder is really just a place to put your keys when you go through security - a bottle would never fit. As noted by others, there is no suit-thing in this size

I use this bag for trips of 2-4 days. The size is large enough that I can fit all my stuff in for that length of time with ease. However, it's small enough that it fits in the overhead bins easily (laying on it's back, handle pointed towards aisle). It's very sturdy and has a number of little pockets to put stuff I want to access easily. The pull out handle is sturdy, slides easily, locks solidly, and is a comfortable length for pulling (I'm 6' tall). Very highly recommended.

I thought this case was well-made and really nice, and I appreciate the longer handle on it. (Then again, I usually purchase cheaper stuff and replace it every year, too.)

My only complaint is that the plastic got scuffed up after only 1 flight, but that could possibly be because of rough handling by the airline employees (I had to gate check it on a small plane).

Since having experience with the brand, I do plan on purchasing a larger version of the bag to use as well. And it came with some luggage locks which was nice.
