Travels with Elvis explores the many places where Elvis sang, ate, and rested his weary head. Retrace the King's steps state by state--from Alabama, where Elvis's father married Dee Stanley, to Wisconsin, where a man called Herbert Baer legally changed his name to Elvis Presley in 1978. Understandably, the most attention is lavished upon Tupelo, Memphis, Graceland, and Nashville. The book surfaces not only established tourist hot spots (his Tupelo, Mississippi, birthplace, school and church) but more obscure destinations such as the Tupelo McDonald's where a huge collection of books, records, and statues memorialize the town's most famous resident.

this great book provides us with a pleasant and interesting journey to the "kings" life. so facinating to know, how the "prophet" of rock`n-roll lived, and what were his intrests. this book is a must to all of you elvis fans, and all of you who are not.

I read this book while traveling on an airline. Between the layovers and the flights, I got through it in less than a day, and that includes sleeping on the plane. This is a fairly decent book, better than some, worse than others. It is light and refreshing and best of all, it does not dwell on anything negative.
