Great deal - exactly what I was looking for,
By JoelB (Phoenix, AZ) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Elliptical GymTough Dura Mat (Misc.)
I have had two previous mats for my treadmill that were made of a soft, foam-like material. That seems to be what everyone carries. That might be fine but my cat thinks it's a scratching pad and destroys them leaving black chunks of foam all over the house. This mat is great. It is solid and I was pleasantly surprised that it didn't have an odor like most rubber mats do. The other great thing is this mat was less than half of anything I found like it in retail stores even with the shipping charges.

High quality mat,

This review is from: Elliptical GymTough Dura Mat (Misc.)
This mat is a solid quality item. It's a nice, heavy weight but easy enough to move. It's doing a great job protecting our treadmill from the dust of the floor below and protecting our carpet from the treadmill so that's a win/win.
We've relied heavily on recommendations from the treadmill doctor over time so we were confident in buying this item from that source via the Amazon marketplace. An additional tip some might find useful: We were warned by our carpet cleaner that placing a mat on our wall-to-wall would ultimately lead to "transference" that is, after prolonged contact between the mat and the carpet fibers they would exchange molecules and our carpet would have a big black mark. I came up with the idea of placing an old bed sheet between the two surfaces to interfere with the transference. The carpet expert thought it was a good idea. We haven't had the treadmill in place for long enough to know if that's going to work but it seemed worth a try. I used an old twin flat sheet folded in half lengthwise and with just a little extra length folded on one end. That fit nicely under this mat.
