Excellent! So much so, that my son asked to take a drive out to Oyster Bay to see the house. And, there it was, as in the story. An important location in the amazing story of the Setauket spy ring and its' role in foiling Benedict Arnold's plans. History might not have been the same if not for what happened there!
The guides enjoyed my son's questions about the book and were happy to point out area's and artifacts that were integral in the story, even the location of the old orchard. Pretty true to history! It truly brought history to life in a meaningful way and gave us great pride as Long Islanders! |
