Engrossing,well researched account of the mystery of Alaric's treasure.Author makes it very interesting reading with its lucid prose and glimpses of little known facts of Roman history.The history buffs will welcome reading the clear picture of the beginning of the end of once mighty Roman empire as a direct result of Alarics repeated onslaught on the culture obscessed with the lust of gold. The principal fascination of this book revolves around its relevance to current events resulting in cultural,social,religious and political turmoil.The lust for the treasure did not even escape the attention of Hitler who thought to avail himself of the benefit of this vast treasure if he could find it.

You won't waste your money by buying this. I recently had the fortune to stumble upon this book; it's very interesting, and best of all, very good written. I enjoyed every part of it. This is the kind of book that keeps you thinking all night long. After reading Daniel's book, I acquired an interest in studying about this fascinating subject. Great job, Daniel.
