My 3 and 6 year old love this wordless picture book. The little boy in the book helps his mother make a cake then takes a bath while the cake is baking. While in the bathtub he imagines that he is in the ocean surrounded by an assortment of fish and other ocean creatures. He finds a map that leads him to a treasure chest which contains soaps and shampoo. The ocean creatures then scrub him with the soap he's found in the treasure chest much to his annoyance. When we read this book we imagine him saying, "is this really necessary?". Then his bath is over, he gets his jammies on and has a piece of cake. The illustrations are great. This is a very cute book.

A little wide-eyed boy and his mother are going to make a cake. Once it is all done, it will have frosting and a cherry on top of each piece. At least that's what shows on the box. Mom has a standing mixer, but all little boys need to help out first with a wooden spoon. A little bit of mixing, a little bit of tasting and a little bit of PLOP! There's batter on the face, elbows, nose and everywhere frosting can find a home because that is how a little boy mixes a cake. Mom puts the batter in the cake pan, opens the oven and puts it in to bake. After the exciting part is done, it's off to the tub for a bit of scrub a dub dub.

The water is drawn while the clothes come off. Don't those shirts always pulllllll hard over a boy's head? Mom works at the sink while an unhappy looking little guy floats his tugboat in the tub. All of a sudden fish galore burst out of the bubbly water to surprise him. They invite him beneath the water and he spies a treasure map next to an ancient, rusting anchor. All the sea creatures like the whale, octopus, snail and an assortment of creatures follow him as he makes his way to the treasure chest. He grabs the lid and umph, umph, umph pushes it up as hard as he can. To his surprise it pops open to reveal a treasure that only a mother could love. What do you think he found?

This is a totally imaginative tale without words that any preschooler can "read," enjoy and appreciate. Most cooking experiences with a little one usually end up with a little trip to the tub while the cake or cupcakes do their magic in the oven. This is a tale that will bring out everyone's imaginative side and each and every reading will be quite unlike the previous one, making it a new experience each time. I loved the artwork which has a slightly nostalgic vintage tinge to it, but then again that might be my imagination. This is a tale that you are going to love because the storyline will be yours and yours alone!

This is a wordless picture book about a little boy that needs a bath. Like most kids he is reluctant to get in but once he is in he has a blast and doesn't want to get out! He uses his imagination and pretends that the objects used in bathing him are all under the sea creatures and sea themed objects.

We love wordless books in our house. My 4 year old cannot read yet, but she enjoyed making up stories by looking at the pictures. She can create her own story line with these types of books.
