After 11 Years I managed to lose my wedding ring at the beach last Sunday! I knew that I had to do something to find it, so a friend of mine suggested that I buy a metal detector. After looking around the web, I decided to purchase the Treasure Cove Fortune Finder Model TC-3020. The specs and features of the unit were great for the price in comparison to other brands and styles. I paid a little extra for expedited shipping, as I knew time was of the essence. I ordered it on Sunday night and it arrived to me on Wednesday. That afternoon I put it together, it was super easy. The kids and I headed to the beach in hopes of finding my ring. I knew it was going to be a long shot, the beach is pretty popular and busy! I went to the general area where we were sitting and turned it on. At first, I had to calibrate the unit, according to the user manual. That was easy enough. I put on the earphones and started moving the detector over the sand. I immediatley got a tone and my son used the handy scoop to dig. His eyes lit up as it sifted the sand from the holes and he saw something shiny. It was a little girls metal hair clip! I was excited to know that the metal detector worked! We kept searching over the sand and it went off again. We scooped and this time it was a piece of foil - odd! By this time we were having fun and I was very hopeful! We kept scanning over the sand and it went off again. He scooped, sifted and THERE IT WAS.. MY wedding ring!!! :) We all jumped for joy!! Not only did I find my ring, but I think I found a new fun hobby and a great thing to do with the kids!!! I 100% recommend the Treasure Cove TC-3020 - it was so easy to use and worked extremely well for this mom!

I really enjoy metal detecting, I get to wander around the great outdoors, soak up a little sun, and get a little exercise -- never knowing what I may find. I have found coins and jewelry at the beach and this detector has PAID FOR ITSELF a few times over!!!!!!!!

I am an avid "Treasure" hunter and when I broke my old metal detector I thought I would buy a new detecter as a Father's Day gift to me. After reading the reviews on various sites, including here at Amazon, I decided to get this one. This one had a good price and had many of the features I was looking for.

I have used it many times and love it. It beeps clearly when the type of metal I am hunting is found. I think people sometimes get confused that metal detecting isn't like hunting for a radioactive object, constantly emitting detectable radiation, like "you are getting warmer or cooler", it beeps when it finds metal. You do need patience the first few times you use it, because you need to set the sensitivity to find the right descriminitation (the ability of the detector to differentiate metal types). Like anything, it gets easier to use as you get familiar with what you are doing.

My 9 year old wanted a metal detector for christmas. I searched and looked at several brands. All the ones that seemed like they would be really good were priced retail around $400.00 and up which was more than i wanted to spend for his first one. i found this one listed on Amazon and it showed it was normally 400 and change but on sale for much less so I bought it thinking it should be really good. The detector itself is pretty good and picks items up about 8 to 9 inches down, however the head phones are cheap and dont fit well. The carry case is fine and the sand scoop is as well. The biggest complaint I have with this is that the directions are NOT very good. It is fine on how to assemble, but if you have no experience on using a detector ( we didn't ) it does a lousy job taking you through the process of showing you how to use the 3 mode features that give off different tones. If the directions had been well thought out and a lot more in depth then I would probably be saying this was an amazing item.

got it for an eleven year old for her birthday - she was exstatic with it - and tries to use it as much as possible - been finding lots of things with it - good bargain - glad for the other reviews of this product - it did help a lot in my decision to purchase it

I was thrilled to have purchased this metal detector. I have been doing this activity for years. This was by far the best detector for the money.

My product arrived before the estimated due date and arrived in perfect condition. It was easy to assemble and adjust, we barely referranced the directions and more so just to make sure we did it right. We went out and used it right away. Everything worked fine, but we havent taken the time to really use the fine-tuned settings. We found a bunch of junk today (nails, cans, a cheap ring) but had fun with our new hobby :-)

A really good value for everything you recieve. We purchased this as a christmas present and had shopped many places for one. This unit came with all of the extras which others were charging more for. We found the best price available here on Amazon and recieved it quickly with no issues. Great product and we were thrilled with it. I highly recommend it.

I'm new to treasure hunting but I spend a lot of time outdoors, at the beach, camping etc and I bought this metal detector to see if it would be something I was interested in.

I had a blast at the beach and around my house finding all kinds of goodies. I highly recommend this metal detector. I'm glad I got the one with the headphones too. Makes a big difference.

I bought this for a family vacation that we were taking to the beach. I thought it would be an excellent source of entertainment for my little cousins and for my Aunts and Uncles who are all about finding some spare change. After hours of playing with this on the beach we found lots of surprising things and everyone in my family had a blast!

I would definitely reccommend this to anyone who's interested in finding hidden treasure.

Haven't had a chance to test it on ground with no snow but will in upper Michigan when I go camping in the spring. I've tested it with coins, gold wathces and gold jewelry and it seems to work fine.
