4.0 out of 5 stars Good ideas but it's still up to the gamemaster's ingenuity., March 27, 2000

This review is from: Treasure Maps (Advanced Dungeons & Dragons, Gr3 9377) (Paperback)
This set of 16 full color treasure maps presents several "instant" adventures for any gamemaster to throw in with little preparation. Several of the ideas included were interesting and fun to play out, but most of the adventures were very ordinary. I suppose you can't be too choosy when putting quick adventures together but some of the treasure maps were just too bareboned to be of any real use, while others requred a specific flavor to an existing campaign in order to be used. Good artwork and nice glossy paper will keep this item in good shape even afer use for you collectors out there. Several germs of good ideas exist here, but it's up to the individual gamemaster to make really good use of this material. Overall a good item that has the potential to be very good with the right experienced gamemaster running it.
