Great book! It has plenty of background info and production and prepoduction work. The Glenn Keane animation drawings alone are worth getting the book. I enjoy the behind the seens work in animation productions as well as the films themselves. I believe this book satisfies interest on both accounts. This book is a welcome addition to anyone's library. I look forward to seeing the movie.

5.0 out of 5 stars Delightful piece for any fan or collector, December 21, 2002

I thorougly enjoyed the movie "Treasure Planet" for the art as much as the story. It really was one of Disney's most beautiful films.

That's why I enjoyed this book so much. It gives an in-depth look at the art, the style, the making, etc. Each character is discussed with their background. Best of all, there are amazing pictures--sketch, rough-draft, final--that are absolutely georgous.

This book is a great look into the movie. If you loved "Treasure Planet", you will appreciate this.

While not as extensive as the old Hyperion editions, this 'art of' Treasure Planet is a good, solid book, a must for fans of the film. The work goes into detail on all the major designs and characters and gives us pictures of even the minorest walk on. I would have liked a bit more art from the film, but given the shoddy way Disney seems to be abandoning this film, I'm pleased we got this book at all. A nice piece of work and a must for any fan of the film or Disney collector.
