5.0 out of 5 stars Also under the title "A Kiss of Adventure"
I have fallen in love with this book and have read it multiple times. I was quite disappointed to discover that it was out of print. After a while I managed to get a used copy. However, while shopping a book caught my eye and I flipped through it. Imagine my surprise when I discovered the book to be The Treasure of Timbuktu, only under a different name! If you would...

If you would like a copy the title is now A Kiss of Adventure, which is part of the treasures of the heart series.

This book is really exciting & extremely funny. Tillie, a girl longing for a change in her so predictable life, is swept away on an adventure with Greame. At first Tillie isn't sure about Greame but as they continue traveling together in Africa she finds it hard to deal with the fact that he isn't a christian and they can have no future together. Once you open this book you can't put it down and the pages will not stop turning. This book could turn someone who hates reading into someone who loves to!

5.0 out of 5 stars Riveting, February 3, 1999

This review is from: The Treasure of Timbuktu: Treasure of the Heart #1 (HeartQuest) (Paperback)
This book is captivating from the first page. It was a really interesting book, and I like the way Catherine Palmer writes, with interesting and depictive descriptions.

Tillie's adventure starts in a sweeping, confusing kidnapping in the streets of Africa. Graeme, the rugged, adventuresome man who rescues her, is secretive at first, and Tillie wonders if she can believe him. But as the adventures through rivers, brush, and desert go on, she realizes she is falling in love with him.

Meanwhile, those who are following them are never far behind, and Tillie learns to trust in God through every situation.

This is a really great book. It takes you on a wild ride through and around the Niger River with a beautiful scientist (Tillie) and her adventure-some rescurer/kidnapper (Graeme McLeod). The Tuareg are on their tail and are willing to do anything to get their hands on Tillie and the treasure they think she can find. Tillie is at first wary of Graeme. Gradually, she finds herself wanting his company. The trouble is, he's not a Christain. How can Tillie survive all the tough situations she finds herself in? How can she do what she knows is write in her heart?

5.0 out of 5 stars An Adventure of A Lifetime, March 17, 1998
This review is from: The Treasure of Timbuktu: Treasure of the Heart #1 (HeartQuest) (Paperback)
Tilly, a tree planting woman on the african frontier is mysteriously kidnapped and given a gift one day. The Tuareg is after her, and she doesn't know if she can trust the good-looking Graeme who saved/kidnapped her. The tuareg is a african wild tribe of people who only have machetes as an answer to any questions. Tilly learns about Graeme's past life, he was abused by his father, and he in turn is learning to trust God more and more. And Tilly doesn't like the fact that she is liking his kisses more and more. This book is captivating and you simply cannot put it down till the last page has been turned.
