Get ready for the world's largest treasure hunt, and a game destined to redefine the mobile nature of DS gameplay. In Treasure World Nintendo DS players explore and uncover literally thousands of wondrous treasures that are waiting to be found via external Wi-Fi treasure spots across the globe. In doing so players create a secret world that becomes more vibrant and melodic as your riches grow. Players can also expand the gameplay experience by joining Club Treasure World where they can chat, set up trades and show off their treasure to other players worldwide.
As sort of a custodial entity to the galaxy, Starsweep plays an integral role in the cosmos. With the help of his spaceship, Haley, he travels through space literally dusting off stars. The problem is that Haley, not being the most reliable means of transportation, has broken down. Now Starsweep needs help getting the craft into working order again. To do this Starsweep must gather as much stardust as possible, which Haley runs on. This is a big job, but thankfully Starsweep has built a useful and quirky robot named Wishfinder. Among other features, Wishfinder possesses a built in "treasurescope" that can be used to track down stardust anywhere it exists. But there is more than stardust out in space. There is also seemingly unlimited treasure. Exactly how much is meant by "unlimited?" Join Starsweep and Wishfinder as they discover just how much that is in Treasure World. Gameplay What makes Treasure World unique is its focus on mobile play through the wealth of Wi-Fi hotspots available around the world. The game contains more than 2,500 separate in-game items/treasure such as trees, flowers, candy, outfits, plants, etc., which are automatically unlocked as players access the more than 200 million Wi-Fi treasure spots worldwide that are registered within the game. Only a certain number of these items are accessible from a single Wi-Fi hotspot. This means that although the game can be played from a single location, players must take their DS with them wherever they go and access new Internet connections in order to continue to collect new items. Once players have a sufficient amount of items they can be used to decorate in-game environments. In addition, certain items also have musical qualities. Each of these have specific sounds associated with them and can be placed on the ground where individual sounds can be heard, scales can played and tones changed. The game also features preset "songscapes," basically in-game songs associated with an environment, which draw on the sounds of a set number of items associated with these environments. When players acquire all the items associated with a songscape a melody becomes available to the player. Also, a variety of human and animal themed outfits discovered by players can be used to dress up Starsweep's robot Wishfinder and the Stardust unlocked at each new Wi-Fi treasure spot accessed will help move your spaceship along as well. Online Sharing With more than 2,500 items available via multiple Wi-Fi spots, playing by themselves it will take players a good while to collect all the treasure available, but online sharing is another way to experience the wealth of content available is Treasure World. Through the game's companion Website Clubtreasureworld.com players can share and trade items, songscapes and favorite Wi-Fi treasure spots, as well as chat with other players and keep up to date on game news. Great concept, find treasure in the real world!,

Wow, I bought this based on an early preview and was pleasantly surprised. Treasure World actually turns the outside world into a game, rewarding you for exploring new areas and locations in order to gain treasure for use within the game itself. I'll set the game to search mode, put it in my pocket, then go out for the day, gaining treasure along the way. Since I started playing I've been taking new routes to work, visiting different coffee shops and cafes, and really noticing the prevalence of wi-fi signals in my city. You can use your treasures to dress up your little character and decorate the playing area in game (which is then turned into a song!), but it's a shame there isn't more you can do with the treasures once you have them. I also wished that there were mini-games or something to play when not exploring, but that almost defeats the purpose of the game itself. Still, it's a collecting game without all the work, providing a relaxing play experience that extends outside of the game itself. A great concept, I'd love to see more games take risks and innovate like this one!

A remarkabley innovative and engaging title! Just plain fun!,

A game this innovative is a rarity. More of a toy along the lines of Nintendogs, Treasure World has a uniquely unassuming but addictive quality that grabs you. While obviously targeted for younger players who will no doubt be all over it, the game has a whimsical and casual appeal that will appeal to adults, as well. It's simply a lot of fun to be driving around with your DS closed up in standby and hear lots of chimes as it detects treasures from all the different wifi signals it encounters. (And you'd be amazed at just how many it does!) The supporting web site is also a great place to log, compare, and trade your treasures.
This game is in itself a hidden treasure. Get it!
