Good, but not one of her best,
By Andrea "66bug" (Wichita, Kansas) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Treasures of the North (Yukon Quest #1) (Paperback)
I have read several of Tracie's books, and have enjoyed them. Although I did like this one, it isn't one of my favorites. I wish she would have developed the characters and story a little better. Alaska in the 1890's was very rugged, especially for women, but she kind of skimmed over details like that. But all in all, it was a good book, and I am looking forward to seeing what happens to Grace and Peter in the second book.

Terrific Alaskan Romance,

Got this book for my birthday and have never read any books by this author. I was captivated at once and found the book delightful. I was disappointed at first at the ending because it left so many situations hanging until I found out that its the first in a new series. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it to any romance novel lover.

I'd Give It 100 Stars If There Was Room!!!,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Treasures of the North (Yukon Quest #1) (Paperback)
Treasures of the North was an awesome book. Don't listen to anyone who says they couldn't get into it. They must be reading an entirely different book because what I read was a thrilling fast pace book filled with romance and interesting plots. If you love historical fiction, you will love Treasures of the North. It's about a 20 year old named Grace who has to escape to Alaska when she is being forced ot marry a man who is evil and abusive, Martin Paxton. Grace escapes with her teacher who is also her best friend, Karen. While traveling there she falls in love with the captain, Peter Colton. Will she finally rid herself of the terrible Martin Paxton, and marry Peter or will she be forced into a horrible marriage? Read Treasures of the North and find out!!!!! Look at the reviews for the sequel Ashes and Ice for my review!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ignore the cynics, get this book!,
This review is from: Treasures of the North (Yukon Quest #1) (Paperback)
I really don't understand the reviews I'm seeing here. To me this book had some great and unpredictable twists and turns. The description of the Alaskan territory makes you feel like your there (I should know, I've been twice!). You really come to love and get involved with these characters. I read the whole series, and LOVED each one! I gobble up Christian Historical Fiction, and have read both the good and the bad in this catagory. This series is DEFINATELY in the catagory of good!

I am very surprised at the first two reviews!! I loved this series. I read all 3 books in about 3 weeks. They are wonderfully done, with history, romance, action, and great characters. You should see for yourself!!

When I picked up this book I had no idea it was a christen novel. However it was still very well written. The adventure is wonderful. At the beginning of the book you think its just about Grace, but its really about so much more. I recommend this read, but definitely not if you're the cynical type.

I remember heading to the Christian Fiction Section to see if I could find some books I havent read by Lori Wick, unfortunatly I could not find any new books by her but did find this series, or rather the second and third of the series. So I went searching for the first book at other various bookstores, finally I found it. It was absolutly great, I would have read it all in one sitting except by the time I came home with the book it was 11:00. I would Highly Recommend this book to anyone!

This is the first Tracie Peterson book I have read, and it was absolutely fabulous!! I was riveted by the plotline, it was full of surprises and the message of salvation was woven beautifully and appropriately throughout. This book was so refreshing, and unique! I can't wait to the read the next one in the series.

Treasures of the North is a real treasure to be sure. I was capivated from the first page. Tracie writes one great book after another. I can hardly wait for the next book to come along. I hope this series lasts for a long time. I'd like to see more of the Alaskan setting.
