5.0 out of 5 stars Treasury of American Design & Antiques, January 11, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Treasury of American Design and Antiques: A Pictorial Survey of Popular Folk Arts Based upon Watercolor Renderings in the Index of American Design, at the National Gallery of Art (Hardcover)
This is a wonderfully written book containing almost 3,000 illustrations, including 800 in full color. This book is a superb reference containg pieces from early Colonial times to the close of the nineteenth century. From roughhewn frontier functionalism to decorative elegance and the finest craftsmanship, to household objects and ornaments. It's an interesting read and a perfect reference for designers and decorators alike, or simply a perfect coffee table accessory.
