4.0 out of 5 stars A Great Christmas Compilation
This box set is wonderful. It has just about every song one can remember from childhood. A word of warning, though: This Is Not The Same "Treasury of Christmas" That Is Advertised On TV. I initially bought the set Amazon has under the premise that it was the same as the one I had ordered(and was misplaced)from Time-Life 4 years ago. While it is missing...

I initially bought the set Amazon has under the premise that it was the same as the one I had ordered(and was misplaced)from Time-Life 4 years ago. While it is missing some of the songs from the other set, it is still excellent and definitely worth making a part of your Christmas music library!

This is the best set I have ever heard. It will take you back to when you were a kid waiting for a Christmas special to come on TV.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best collection of Christmas Songs Ever!, November 18, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Treasury of Christmas (Audio CD)
This is the most awesome and enjoyable holiday collection I have heard to date. It has 36 of the best songs sung by great artists. Most are sung by the artists that made them popular such as Bing Crosby with White Christmas and gene Autry with Rudolph. Also how can one go wrong with the price. They can't! It is a great variety of music put on 3 CDs and is a must for any holiday music lover!

5.0 out of 5 stars CHOOSE THIS: WELL WORTH THE MONEY!, November 13, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Treasury of Christmas (Audio CD)
For those of a certain age, this three-disc set is as good a sample of seasonal nostalgia as any. As for the other (two disc) version that seems to be kicking around, this is better IF you want such items as Gene Autry's "Here Come Sant Claus" and the Torme version of "The Christmas Song." You might quibble with the fact that the Nat King Cole version is omitted, but this is just that: a quibble. However, there ARE certain tradeoffs. Elvis doing "I'll be home for Christmas rather than Perry Como is one but, then again, I'm a purist, and I'd rather have Sinatra's "Have Yourself a Merry little Christmas," which I don't entirely understand myself. Of course, Guy Lombardo weighing in with "Auld Land Syne" is worth the trip from anywhere. But Williams for Crosby in "Do You Hear What I Hear"? You must be kidding! On second thought maybe I'd better get both.... In the meantime, have a Merry.

4.0 out of 5 stars An Excellent Compilation with One Annoying Flaw, December 27, 1999

This is a great "starter kit" for anyone who wants to collect Christmas classics and have them on hand for the holidays. However, I cannot fathom why the cloyingly sweet "Baby's First Christmas" is included in the set. Whenever it comes on, my family and I dive for the stereo to advance to the next track.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best classic christmas hits ever collected in one place, October 29, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Treasury of Christmas (Audio CD)
Sometimes in life, something reminds us of the times that matter most. Quiet walks through the freshly fallen snow, joy-filled sleigh rides through the countryside with the one you love, and singing Christmas carols while sipping hot cocco by the crackling fire. All of these are special memories of those times. In my life I have found no better way to remind myself of these cherished moments, these beautiful snapshots of life's truest essence than this collection of holiday classics. There is enough holiday magic and warmth in these treasured recordings to melt the heart of even the most cold hearted Scrooge.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Time-Life Treasury of Christmas Box Set, December 17, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Treasury of Christmas (Audio CD)
An absolute must for anyone who treasures the traditional Christmas music from childhood. I'm sure something is missing, but you won't notice because you'll be so overwhelmed with all the wonderful, nostalgic sounds you keep wishing the radio stations would play every year, but don't. It would make a great gift, just make sure to get a copy for yourself.
