This globe is a glamorous cardboard ball with a sticker on it. The "relief" bumps to signify mountain ranges is actually off register (does not line up) with the map adhered to it. Cheap, horribly built, of no discernable quality.

I'm returning it. I've had globes before in my 40 years of life, this is junk.

Our Treasury Globe is a timeless treasure, the second we have owned. Our 5th and 7th grade boys are always consulting it. Although there was nothing wrong with our other world globe, all the geo-political changes that have taken place since the 70's, made the new purchase a necessity.

We purchased the Treasury Globe for our son for Christmas. It is a beautiful piece. It easily converts from a floor to desk globe. The globe has bright colors and raised mountain ranges. It tilts for easy viewing. A piece very much worth the cost. It is a beautiful addition to any home library or bedroom etc.

I was given a 1980's model and never encountered a question that it wasn't useful in solving. Now I'd likely never be happy with a globe that lacks the gimbal mounting of this model. Loaded with useful info...even ocean currents and trade routes. Just sent one to my great-nieces. Perfect for seated students. Price is more than fair. Not a toy.
SciEd Physical Globe

This was purchased as a gift and the recipient (my mother-in-law) was very happy with it. Although not necessary I would suggest buying a three inch 10X magnifying glass for those with close-up vision problems. I purchased a good quality magnifying glass with a similar type wooden handle on Ebay for about $15.00 to go along with the gifted globe. The 12" globe is an ideal size because it doesn't take up much space but a smaller globe would be harder to read.

The stand is of good quality and can be converted to desktop or floor use very easily.

For the price I was very impressed with the construction of this replogle model globe and would not hesitate to buy another.
