About the Author

When her grandson was born, she wanted him to enjoy the fun of learning Good Manners through the antics of "The Goops." The original copy of the book Goops and How To Be Them had been in her family for over 100 years and is very worn due to generations of love and tears. She set out to obtain a new book to be his very own, totally innocent of the great adventure ahead. She discovered a great need for children to learn proper manners, the most important step in obtaining good self-esteem. In 1998 she re-introduced Goops and How to Be Them, followed by the 2005 release of A Treasury of Goops. Her journey has led her on a crusade to bring good manners back into our lives.

I was so thrilled to find this book is still being printed!!! I have sent one to all the children for Xmas!! When I was much younger, the GOOP books were a great referance on how to be NOT a GOOP!! I dearly loved these books as did my mother, who shared them with us all. They are a book to keep forever, whenever you want to smile:) the drawings make it a super special!! For children of all ages:)

I am a strong believer in teaching children the importance of proper manners and polite behavior at an early age. But all too often, in our increasingly fast-paced society, the character development of our youth is left to the likes of Bart Simpson and M-TV. I am delighted to have found this wonderful book which illustrates manners in such a humorous fashion. It makes a wonderful addition to our "kid-safe" family library.
