Treasury of Novenas by Lawrence G. Lovasik is a wonderful and insighful book filled with many novenas. Included are novenas to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Immaculate Heart of Mary, as well as novenas to the saints. I highly recommend this book for anyone who is looking for spiritual guidance. Praying novenas has done a tremendous amount for me, and has helped bring me closer to God.

Very beautifuly written. Nice to have a good variety in novenas. Some for Advent season, or Lent, some for the family, ect. Good for somebody just starting Novena prayers. SHort info on various saints too.

I have sent this book to several people who cherish it. It has a Novena for most liturgical seasons of the year and prayers for all our spiritual, physical and emotional needs. Tresaury of Novenas also contains prayers to invoke the assistance of various, powerful saints in the church: St. Joseph, St. Therese of Lisieux, St Peregrine and others.

The oldest spiritual practice is that of "prayer" - of speaking to and with God. The Old Testament is a kaleidoscope of prayer experiences . . . as is the New Testament.

Jesus Himself prayed to His Father, often isolating Himself and even secluding Himself for forty days in the desert to "pray and fast".

And so we ourselves find it part of our very nature and heritage as "human beings" to spend time in prayer and converse with God . . . often we can do this quite spontaneously . . .expressing our needs to our Father in heaven - our pain and hurts . . . our sorrows . . our joys and thankfulness . . . our smiles and our tears . . . but at other times we are less concentrated . . . less recollected perhaps . . . and words and thoughts which we can hear or read are able to help guide and assist our own thoughts and expression.

A book of prayers comes along as a "piritual friend" or prayer partner. So it is always good to have a book of prayer which can anchor our prayers in sound doctine and well established spiritual truth.

Such a book is "Treasury Of Novena" by Rev. Lawrence Lovasik. Whether one chooses to emply the pages to pray "novenas" (prayers prayed for nine successive days) or just to read and use for prayer meditations, this volume will be a helpful part of one's prayerlife. The prayers provide one with a wealth of spiritual reference points to think on and medicate on "God" and the things of God . . . and even helps to express and phrase our own daily needs in a reverent and prayerful way to clarify, not so much to God's mind as to our "own minds" exactly what our true needs are - in daily living and on our spiritual pilgrimage.

You might use this volume daily . . . perhaps only from time to time when you feel the need to "fill in' some spiritual dry spots in your prayer life. But it is a good book to have and a good book to have available when you feel the need.

A fantastic set of novenas; just the right balance, well crafted, and powerful to say the least. The commentary and prayers are in spired and well written, and are theologically sound in every case. This is not a dated text, and is every bit as relevant today as when originally written. Very sturdy binding for long use.

Several years ago I was intrested in doing more novenas than just the usuals to the Scared Heart and St. Anthony. I searched the web and found this book. It's wonderful! If you're a Catholic and intrested in doing novenas on special occasions, I highly recommend this book. I've bought several for friends and given them as gifts. Also, I love that some of the verses in the novenas are taken directly out of the prayers the priest uses at mass. It links the two types of prayer together perfectly. Excellent book of prayers!

A great book with a lot of novenas, spiritual readings and reflections.
A good gift for a catholic friend.

I recently purchased this book and have enjoyed reading it. Although I am a bit confused as to why the prayers to the Saints seem so short in comparison to others I have read about. Oh well, I suppose I will learn that in due time. For now, I just enjoy this book as it was written...interesting, informative and a great help.

this little book has a prayer for every occasion and is a pricless purchase. It will help you build a lasting and loving relationship with god.

This book presents the novenas in an orderly way and truly helps you become closer to God. Highly recommended!
