Book Description

0934380651 978-0934380652 April 30, 2001
What if you had the accumulated financial wisdom of twenty-one lives in the stock market? Not just any twenty-one lives worth of market experience, observation, study and synthesis--but twenty-one of the most important, productive and respected lives to be lived on Wall Street in this century? What if you could "stand over the shoulder" of such recognized market giants as Charles H. Dow, Jesse L. Livermore, William D. Gann, Bernard M. Baruch and Gerald M. Loeb, as they applied their financial genius to the evolution for a set of personal market guide-lines? What if you could take pointers from the greatest analytical theorists of the century ranging from Nelson, Hamilton, Rhea and Russell on Dow Theory--to Bond, Galbraith, Munn and Seaman on the market lessons of the first third of the century--go on to Graham, "The Father of Fundamental Analysis,"--join Schabacker, Drew, Edwards, Magee and Gartley for the theory and sophisticated practice of technical analysis--and cap it all off by a stop with Dr. Leo Barnes, professor, analyst, prolific author and until recently, chief economist for one of the world's largest publishers of authoritative business and financial publications, Prentice Hall, Inc. This is what awaits you between the covers of this unparalleled 406 page compilation of the refined and filtered nectar from some of the keenest minds ever to hit Wall Street. Harry D. Schultz and Samson Coslow searched not only their vast accumulation of market research and study, but leading libraries and private book collections, microfilm collections and even the memories and memorabilia cherished by surviving relatives of departed Greats. All this has been reduced to a pointed, manageable essence--the most important observations and thoughts which these virtually matchless financial minds have given as a heritage to posterity. Investor, trader, occasional market "player," or student of the greatest economic structure of all human history--you truly cannot afford to deny yourself this fantastic storehouse of master market knowledge--"A Treasury of Wall Street Wisdom."

This review is from: Treasury of Wall Street Wisdom (Hardcover)
This book is an excellent compilation on the writings of the legends of Wall Street up to 1966(when it was originally published). You will find all the greats here from Charles Dow himself and his successors to Bernard Baruch, Gerald Loeb, Jesse Livermore, and many others. The book job does a great job of condensing their actually writings down to the most important parts of each traders technique. This is one of the most important books you can get on stock trading, in a short time you can learn in one book what I had to read 10 books to learn. I just wish some one would update it and add in Nicolas Darvas and William O'Neal. To learn about their techniques (They have refined stock rading to close to a science) read John Boik's "Lessons from the greatest stock traders of all time".
