5.0 out of 5 stars Great reference on superstitions....GET IT!!, April 17, 1999
By A Customer
This book may be old but its one of the best I have seen yet. There are lots of information on where many common superstitions orginated. Like why the wishbone symbolizes good-luck, many books just say that breaking a wishbone the right way will make your wish come true...duh i know that. The wedding superstitions were one the best, many originate from very ancient times best men and bridesmaids were too fool evil spirits and or family trying to kidnap bride (they held them off so couple could make a getaway) When u get the book or first see it it may throw you off but dont judge it by its looks its a great book once you get into it.

5.0 out of 5 stars If You Really Enjoy Reading Where Superstitions Originated :), June 4, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is a VERY INFORMATIVE BOOK. There's a lot of Folklore & where It originates... Quite Enjoyable... Not really sure how much Superstition plays in these days & time but if you want to know why People throw salt over their shoulders, this is the book to find out.
