I used to see these guys every week at the Plough & Star in Cambridge in 1986, and this album captures their sound very well. Kind of blues, kind of rock, kind of crazy -- mixing traditional with innovation. Later called "Low Music", THR tends to the raw and minimalist, including using a single "cocktail" drum (the Plough didn't allow drum kits) and Mark Sandman playing "bass" on the two lowest strings of a regular guitar. Personally I prefer the songs written by Sandman (eg, I Think She Likes Me), or even the covers he sings (eg, Everglades), but some of the David Champagne tracks are good too, especially Jesus Every Day. Sandman's and Champagne's styles are different enough to give the album a bit of an uneven feel, but for the most part it works.
Hard to find this album anymore, so get it while you can!

A great Band...,

The first time I heard "I think She Likes Me", I couldn't get it out of my head for days. I searched the stores and finally found the cd and was amazed that every song had that effect on me. Bluesy rock at it's best. About as good as harmonica playin' gets, the vocals are perfect, a very reverby sound. I saw these guys open for Chris Isaac at The Bottom Line,NYC several years ago and most of the people never heard of Treat Her Right, but I knew every song and it was a great performance, I really didn't care about seeing Chris Issac after that. It's too bad these guys broke up. Their second album, "Tied to the Tracks" is just as good.

Not as consistently good as 'Tied To The Tracks', but has its moments. Price has gone WAY UP since I purchased.

I was thrilled to find I had choices for the CD I wanted. I selected northamericanrarities for my purchase because of their rating and price; I was not disappointed. My CD was received quickly and in great condition. Because of my experience I will definately check here before I go hunting all over creation for anything I may be wanting/needing.
