5.0 out of 5 stars Treatable and Beatable
Although I do not or have not had cancer, I was able to get so much out of this book. It isn't just for cancer patients. On top of being inspired by the authors chronicled recovery process, there are pages and pages of tips for facing the everyday challenges we all have and coming out a better and healthier person.

2.0 out of 5 stars One person's story
I'm sure it was therapeutic for the author to write this book as they dealt with breast cancer. This is just one person's path. I suppose that this book could be helpful to someone looking for validation that there are other possibilities for treating cancer than the use cut, burn and poison methods.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Personal Story..., March 29, 2010

I ordered "Treatable and Beatable" because I'm always researching new stories of those who've beaten cancer using natural methods and alternative health. This book is a gold mine of information on how one woman had the courage to take personal responsibility for her own body. My journey started in Nov. 2008 when my 26 year old daughter was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer. She wanted to do the chemo because the surgeon and onocologist scared the socks off of her...so, she did do chemo but in the meantime I started researching like a mad woman...I had her taking mangostein and Acai Berry and Warrior Tea BEFORE her surgery and then when she started chemo, we'd wait 3 days for her system to settle down and gave her more anti-oxidants, etc. By spring we had her drinking Pau D'Arco Tea daily, doing the Budwig protocol, taking Medicinal Mushrooms and Transfer Pointe Beta Glucans. Our mission was to preserve her immune system and help it kick back in and do it's job. Bottom line...by last July...her PET scans were ALL CLEAR! and she has refused any more chemo and radiation since last July...she had another scan this past January...still ALL CLEAR! I'm a firm believer that the body wants to heal itself and WILL heal itself given the right "natural" tools to assist it. Carolyn Gross's book has reinforced my families' experience with a cancer diagnosis and how one can face a health crisis and not cave into conventional medicine's fear & death mentality.

5.0 out of 5 stars Treatable and Beatable: Healing Cancer Without Surgery, February 22, 2010
This review is from: Treatable and Beatable: Healing Cancer Without Surgery (Perfect Paperback)
For any woman filled with confusion and fear about her breast cancer, this book will relieve the anxiety. Questions are answered and confusion is lifted from the very beginning. Carolyn described exactly how I was feeling and her words empowered me. Knowing there are answers other than surgery is a great relief and gives a sense of freedom.
