5.0 out of 5 stars Incredible Serious. Downright Captivatingly Real.
The palette this series uses to paint emotive, empathic, and richly textured profiles of real problems with people has an alluring and self-therapeutic effect. This sounds cheesy, but after a few episodes you grow and feel a kinship with the characters.

I just got an email invitation to dl this, and I'd love to watch it - looks like something I'd like. However, I don't have a Windows machine, don't want to jump through a lot of hoops to get it - maybe - to play on my Linux system, so I'll have to pass. Too bad.

I don't know how to describe how amazingly real this series is. As someone's not only studied therapy, couseling and psychology academically, but who has also been "in treatment" for over 100 hours, this is the closest thing to real thing. Byrne is exceptional. Wise, smooth, suave, composed, compassionate, and real. His supporting cast (the patients) are equally captivating.

5.0 out of 5 stars it's addictive, March 15, 2008
this series is so addictive. if you start watching it, you will get so entwined in these peoples lives that believe me you can't stop. gabriel byrne is so freaking awesome in this role, not to mention scorching hot! let's hope that HBO keeps up with the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW!, March 13, 2008

Never have I seen television stripped down to its core, writing and acting. "In Treatment" gives you the pinnacle of these two things, not a hair more and not a hair less. For a show that is solely set in the office of a therapist and it's immediate surrounding areas, the series is surprisingly gripping and captivating. Well, maybe not so surprising being that it's HBO. Congrats Home Box Office, on yet another series well done.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Acting, September 16, 2008
This review is from: In Treatment [Blu-ray] (Blu-ray)
This is my favorite show, I look forward to every episode. My husband got me started on it, and now he knows you do not disturb me when I am watching it. I love that they show you several episodes at once. The show draws you into the lives of the characters. Very well written, Very well cast. I love Gabriel Byrne and all the other characters. I will buy the set when it comes out. Thank you HBO!

5.0 out of 5 stars Riviting!, May 3, 2008
This review is from: In Treatment [Blu-ray] (Blu-ray)
One of the best HBO has come up with in recent years. A riviting series that got better with each episode. Having been on the medical side I found it to be true to life and right on... Kudos to HBO and can't wait for season 2. Keep it going..

4.0 out of 5 stars GREAT show!, March 25, 2008
A wonderful show if you really enjoy great, superbly acted and well directed drama with a very small cast and limited sets. Worth paying for, actually, so I think it's really wonderful that HBO & Amazon are offering it for free.

5.0 out of 5 stars I'll be subscribing to HBO to see more..., March 15, 2008

I was captivated from the first 3 seconds of Paul's first session. What was he putting in the back of the toilet tank? I still don't know... but I know I can't get enough of this guy and his labored success at staying professional with his patients.

Here are two tips if you're thinking of downloading this show:

* Tip #1: Watch the episodes in order: Session 1 for everybody, then session 2, etc. I made the mistake of watching all 3 sessions with each person before moving on to the next person and it spoiled the suspense to a degree.

* Tip #2: Subscribe now to HBO so you can Tivo beyond the 15 free episodes...

The voyeuristic show I didn't know I was longing for. The acting is great and the stories are thoroughly engaging. Thank you for making good tv HBO (and making it available online).
