As a psychologist in training, I have found this book to be an excellent resource. This book uses a step-by-step approach to take the reader through the symptoms, etiologies, and research on effective treatment for the different disorders that are diagnosed during childhood. The main strength of this book was that instead of advocating the use of one treatment modality regardless of the disorder presented, it presented what has been found to be the most effective means of treatment as determined by research.

This book is a great tool for teachers going into the field of special education. It is often hard to find quality reference material, this is.

Great information on a wide array of disorders. Well written although at times lengthy.
