As a social worker, I was looking for activities that would elicit insight from the clients, rather than just telling them how to act. They should come to their own conclusions. There are many, many more informational handouts than there are client worksheets in this book. The worksheets that are given are a bit complex and are best suited for high-functioning adult clients.

This book has so many handouts, worksheets that you are allowed to reproduce. There is a wealth of information in this book. Can be used for individual as well as groups therapy, or used alone for self-help worksheets and lessons. Very easy to follow and very practical. This is a great resource for working on life skills, self esteem, dealing with negative thinking and learning to think more positively.

This book has loads of handouts, quotes, worksheets to help with anger, depression, irrational thinking, anxiety, and generally promotes wellness and healthy thinking skills. Makes a lot of sense! You don't have to be a therapist to appreciate the lessons.

I purchased this and a few days after receiving it, I was able to use the resiliency skills and tips handouts with a client. My practice is new (4 months) and I can see this book being invaluable to the growth of my clients, myself and my practice. I will be starting some groups soon and plan to use them there. When I finally break into providing seminars to companies (which I WILL - trying to be very positive here), I am sure many of these handouts can be integrated. Ms. Belmont has created an excellent and professional resource for us. High praise.

Rarely does one find a practical book to deal with stress management, communication, rational thinking, and other self-help skills. This is an all-in-one package that enables me to more effectively deal with important life skills. Beyond a mere description of problems, this workbook involves me in enhancing my mental well-being.

This book is sold through our site by the author and we have been pleased that in 2 years not one has been resold (Date is 2/23/09)!That is why you will not find any used on this listing - at least as of this date 2/23/09. The feedback we have gotten has been tremendous from mental health professionals who need practical tips on treating their clients. People have written to say how much they have appreciated this book.

I have heard Ms. Belmont speak, and she is as entertaining and engaging as a writer as she is a speaker. Her book format is logical and her creative ideas and suggestions are very helpful for any therapist/counselor.

I love the format and the content of this book. It is a well organized and easily implemented resource. The activities are engaging and manageable and are a valuable addition to the clinician's toolbox. I particularly like that the format places a great deal of responsibility and ownership on to the client. That is a most effective clinical strategy.

We had some communication regarding your book when I had first purchased it. You requested my feedback and I have just recently had the chance to begin using the book and I wanted to take a moment to provide the feedback.

I am getting my doctorate in Forensic Psychology. This book was required for one of my Practicum classes. I currently work with paroles and am running a Life Skills group. Your book has been instrumental in helping get this group created and organized. Your book is absolutely amazing and helps tremendously for me to provide handouts and worksheets to my members that are easily understood by all (specifically since most of them didn't complete high school). We are able to utilize the communication skills portion in job interview settings, which is what they are most concerned of, and it helps them to crystalize this information for use socially as well.

I think you did an excellent job and I would recommend this book to any student and will continue to do so even when I teach or supervise interns.
