This review is from: The Treatment of War Wounds in Graeco-Roman Antiquity: (Samanunga) (Hardcover)
This is a collection of essays dealing with various aspects of war wounds in antiquity. It is not a comprehensive work on war wounds, how they were treated according to ancient methodology. This is an expensive book, and so the buyer beware.I recommend that any potential buyer of this work, borrow one from your local university library to look at it first before making the investment. Give yourself the chance before spending the money. It is a good book, with excellent scholarship and references. But I only recommend it for specialists who study and/or research ancient medicine or ancient warfare. |
