Easy recipes with great results, and artwork too!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Sweet Treats-Dessert Recipes from the Kitchen of Marsha Redfox (Paperback)
This little cookbook is worth it for the artwork alone, and the recipes just make it better! The directions are easy to follow and the results well worth the effort. The art in the book makes it perfect to just browse through, even when you're not in the kitchen. I hope Marsha shares more recipes this way in the future!

Unique mixture of artwork and recipes comes out well done,

I had some of the recipes that were in this book, but I must say, these are easier to follow/cook, and come out better. The detail on the artwork is exceptional and makes flipping through the book looking for something to make fun as well. I highly recommend this to anyone (good or bad cooks alike) who craves sweets.

Margaret Carspecken's cookbook looks good and cooks good.,

This book is great! As always, Margaret Carspecken's handsome illustrations makes any book well worth the price even if it didn't have any recipies in it, but in this case they are a much welcome bonus! I got the spiral bound copy which stays open flat on the kitchen table for easy reference while cooking. Myself, I'm absolutely worthless in the kitchen, but the delicious, well-researched and easy-to-prepare recipies even I could figger out. And do these 'sweet treats' ever taste great! The recipies all have helpful tips and the lingo is explained for the novice cooker. Highly recommended, even if you don't intend to try out any of the recipies. :)

Worth it for the art or the recipes alone.,
This review is from: Sweet Treats-Dessert Recipes from the Kitchen of Marsha Redfox (Paperback)
Aside from being beautifully illustrated, the recipes in this book are extremely well-researched and nearly foolproof. Anyone with an ordinary array of kitchen tools will be able to make most of the recipes in this book, from adults to children. Indeed, I would rate this book very highly for "quality family time" because the children can (with adult supervision for the actual cooking, of course) make just about everything in the book, and the delightful pictures of Marsha Redfox should make them want to. Marsha's ethnic costumes could also help spark family discussions about the cultures all the recipes come from while cooking them (or better, while eating them).

This book has a good collection of "international" recipes that are easy to follow with tasty results. The artwork is inspiring for budding artists as it includes a couple rough sketches on the opening page to show the images in the early stage.

An unusual book that combines great recipes with incredible anthropomorphic artwork. It would be worth the price for either let alone both. If you like furries or sweet dishes, this book is for you!

Artwork is nice though flawed.,

The recipes are indeed sweet, as are the pictures. .. but unfortunate Marsha's got the same bland happy expression in almost every illustration.
