Just as a background..I am a Messianic Jewish believer, also actively serving in the Navy. I have the FAITH I need in God, but I need THE WORD to tie it all together.

I first started with books like "Wild at Heart" by John Eldridge, Tree of Life Bible's "The Boook of John", and "The Fig Tree Blossoms" by Paul Liberman. Now, after also owning Tree of Life Bible's "The Gospels", I now have the privledge of owning a copy of this book.

My friends, I am here to tell you now that THIS is the bible that will finally bridge the gap between Jewish people and the Gentile (Christian) community.

The book is written in an easy to understand, almost "narrative"-like form, making is exceedingly easier to read, interparate, understand, and then apply then pretty much every other bible that exists, in my opinion.

This Bible is the PERFECT example of a Bible that preserves the Jewishness of the text, while also maintaining a recognized level of accuracy and authenticity in its translation.

As a believer, you're never done learning...and I am still just trying to do the homework of my own faith, in order to not only know more of what I claim to believe, but also to ensure that I am spreading GOD'S Word, not my own.

Whether it's someone who's already well-established in their relationship with God, or someone who's just getting into the Word for the first time...the "Tree of Life Family Bible Project" bible series books are EXACTLY the tool to help to grow and build a relationship with God through His word and His truth.

I love this Bible, BUT... the Kindle version really needs Table of Contents access. The Table of Contents is blacked out, and so it is nearly impossible to quickly get to a specific chapter or verse. If it weren't for that, I'd go 5 stars.

For those of us that are new to the Messianic faith - and also those that have read the New Testament for years in either the King James or NIV version - this translation is so clear and precise that it is like reading a storybook. It puts the Word of God into your heart and the clarity is just that - clear - I feel like I am sitting at the feet of Yeshua - listening to Him speak and teach! Paul's teachings take you on his walk throughout his ministry that enables you to be with him from start to finish. I cannot wait for the Torah portion to come out in about 3 years. For those old and new in all faiths - this is an excellent translation of the New Covenant.

It is with great reluctance that I cannot give the Tree of life Bible: The New Covenant a glowing review. :(

My issue is not with the intent of this translation or with the integrity of the project leaders. I actually bought it, because it was being backed by some notable scholars and ministries i.e. Jews for Jesus. Whom I fully support. Rather my problem is to do with the accuracy and faithfulness to the original Greek text. The authors state at the introduction to the bible that this was going to be one of their key guiding principles in translating the Gospels and yet within a few minutes of reading it I found some questionable paraphrases.

I strongly believe that in a translation of the bible, the text should be left to speak for itself as much as possible. Even at the risk of making the grammar difficult to understand in English. The choices of how to then apply these words (i.e. an "interpretation") should be left to the conscience of the reader (under of course the guidance of the Holy Spirit) not to an "Editorial board". It's fine to add notes or explanations in the margins, but the text itself should be left as much as possible, untouched by an agenda, noble as it might be. This was the problem I faced with Stern's "Jewish Bible", if you look at what he wrote in say Ephesians 5:26 and even a cursory overview of the Greek, it's an obvious loaded paraphrase, not an accurate translation. I was fervently hoping the Tree of Life wouldn't fall into the same style but it seems to have sadly done so in places.

An example in Galatians 1:11. The TOLB says "Now I want you to know, brothers and sisters, .." Now the Greek just says Adelphoi, which is simply Brothers.

This New Covenant Bible is what I needed to understand some of the Jewish heritage. I am a Gentile worshipping in a Jewish (Messianic) environment. It's GREAT! Can't wait for the complete "Tree of Life" Bible which will include the "Old and New Covenants"

This book is a new testament Bible that is designed to bring Jewish and Gentile believers together in Yeshua. It was compiled by Messanic Jews. With guidance from "The Holy Spirit" Jews and Christians can better understand the origins of their Jewish roots. The book includes a glossary of Hebrew words that can help the reader to understand the vocabulary that this Bible uses. I have found the book to be very helpful to study and read.
