Product Description

*Botanical Name: Melaleuca alternifolia**Plant Part: Leaves **Extraction Method: Steam Distilled**Origin: Australia**Description: The Tea Tree is a small tree or shrub with needle-like leaves. It is also domestically referred to as Ti-tree. It can grow up to 7 meters (20 feet) in height and thrives in marshy areas, though it is now cultivated in plantations. The Tea Tree is very robust; it is ready for cutting only two years after its' previous harvest.**Color: Colorless to pale yellow clear liquid.**Common Uses: Tea Tree Essential Oil is best known as a very powerful immune stimulant. It can help to fight all three categories of infectious organisms (bacteria, fungi, and viruses), and there is evidence that Tea Tree Oil massages prior to an operation may help to fortify the body and reduce post-operative shock. Used in vapor therapy, Tea Tree Oil can help with colds, measles, sinusitis and viral infections. For skin and hair, Tea Tree has been used to combat acne, oily skin, head lice and dandruff. As essential oils have become more accepted by the public, the use of Tea Tree has increased significantly. This can be readily evidenced by the commercial products now using Tea Tree Essential Oil.**Consistency: Thin**Note: Middle**Strength of Aroma: Medium**Blends well with: Cinnamon Bark, Clary Sage, Clove Bud, Geranium, Lavender, Lemon, Myrrh, Nutmeg, Rosewood, Rosemary and Thyme.**Aromatic Scent: Tee Tree Essential Oil has a fresh, antiseptic and medicinal scent. It also has characteristic mint and spice back-notes.**History: The aboriginal people of Australia have long used Tea tree oil; similarly, Tea tree has a long history of use within the field of aromatherapy. In World War Two, the producers and the cutters of Tea Tree were exempt from military service until enough essential oil had been accumulated. The oil was a highly valued product as it was issued to each soldier and sailor as part of their kit in order to treat tropical infections and infected wounds.

I bought this tea tree oil and was pleased overall -- the oil was well-packaged, a quality product delivered on time. It's got great soothing qualities for skin and hair, and can also be used homeopathically and very effectively as an insect repellent in nooks and crannies under cabinets.

However, please BE WARNED. Tea tree oil is also VERY toxic, a fact I wish I'd known before purchase, because I was spraying it liberally on sleep pillows with lavender, all sorts of stuff, simply thinking it would add a pleasant scent (which it did). However, recent articles I found floored me because I quickly realized tea tree oil is highly toxic to children and animals, ESPECIALLY cats, who evidently need only a small topical exposure in some cases to lead directly liver failure and death!

So be warned -- it's a great essential oil and offers many proven homeopathic remedies, but if you are a cat owner, use with extreme caution, and never in ways that will result in direct contact with your cat. NEVER use it as a pet shampoo additive, and keep it away from pets and children. Use cautiously.

Otherwise, it's pleasant, more than fairly priced, and mixes well with lavender and rosemary for pleasant scents in linen closets or under cabinets. Just use it carefully!

Great for acne sufferers. I use it every night on my face AFTER moisturizing to prevent pimples...tip from my aesthetician. I use it on my nails after a mani/pedi to prevent infections. I mix it in a medicine dropper along with Jamaican black castor oil, eucalyptus oil and lavender oil. I apply it directly to my scalp. Great for natural hair that is dry. This oil has so many uses!

I purchased this item along with other essential oils for my natural hair care. I mixed this along with other oils like Rosemary and Peppermint along with megatek and M-T-G and it soothes the scalp! Great buy!

I just want to start off by saying that this is seriously a miracle in a bottle. When you have lost all hope with acne, bacterial infections, fungal infections, or simply don't know what the heck is wrong with your skin, give this a try.
I was at the end of my rope with my face. I made it all the way through high school without a single blemish, and when I turned 23-years-old, I was battling a full on face of them. I guess it could be attributed to stress, but whatever the case may be, my acne sent me into a depression.
I have tried it all. Every acne product out there has been slathered on my face in a desperate attempt to get my clear skin back. Nothing worked.
I started to do some research on tea tree oil, and the success rates seemed high enough to give it a shot. I figured if this didn't work then it was time for me to go to the dermatologist.
I am currently into a week of having my oil, and I kid you not, my skin is near FLAWLESS. I wish I could post a before and after picture, that is how dramatic the difference is.
I see a lot of people post about having to dilute this solution, however, I never did. My skin may not be as sensitive as it is to others, but I just dabbed it on with a q-tip after I put on my moisturizer. A little goes a long way, but I have already ordered my second bottle because I am going to use it for spot treatments for the rest of my existence.
So please, give this a try. Grab your self-esteem out of the gutter. Get your confidence back. Be comfortable in your own skin.
Thank you, tea tree oil!

This is not a review of this specific product, but a warning to those out there planning to use it for break outs. Yes, if you dab a little bit of undiluted tea tree oil onto break-outs (I used a Q-tip), they will disappear within a day or two. HOWEVER, you may end up with hyper-pigmentation on that spot, as it happened to me. Now, I'm trying to get rid of all the dark spots on my face.

I found this oil to be most satisfying. It's strong and effective, has a nice smile that isn't terribly pharmacuetical, and it's a great bargain with this price. It's a good liquidy consistency and it's been mixing well with even water. I also find the bottle and labeling to be quite charming, and it's looks nice on my shelf with my other oils.
