Customer Reviews

My oldest grandson loves to create a castle and then storm it with knights!
Music Ma'am
He spends lot of time building with these alongside his other building blocks.
Girly Girl Boomer
I am definitely going to get another set, so they can make larger "castles".

My 4 yr old son got this for Christmas. My only complaint is the photo on the cover shows what you can build with TWO sets. I originally only got one for him and have had to wait untilt hey came back in stock after the Holidays. But my son plays for hours with this - he's very proud of all the different castles he can build me for me, Very well made also.

My 3 year old son and 1 year old daughter received a set each for Christmas - awesome blocks! My son and husband both enjoyed building!

The blocks have neat little details that I haven't seen on other wooden block sets. One set really isn't much though - I'd get two.

Also JC Penny has these for $20 a piece!!!! I bought them for $15 on black Friday... definitely great blocks, but don't spend near $40 for one set!!

I am very disappointed with the product. The photograph shows that the blocks contain cutouts of elongated windows. In fact the windows are just a shade darker than the wood in color and the only cutouts are along the edge of some pieces. And those cutouts are done very crudely. The wood blocks are cheaply made and finished and don't look much like the photo.

Sadly, I did not do my due diligence and look at how big the actual blocks for this set are, so I was a little disappointed and surprised when the rather small box came. That said, even though the blocks are small, we decided to give them a try as they were a gift. My 2 (almost 3) year old really has a lot of fun building castles with this set, and I enjoy watching his imagination run wild. They are sturdy, well made, attractive, and they allow for a lot of ingenuity while making pretty much any arrangement look awesome. They are not heavy, which is nice because they don't get damaged or do damage when they get knocked over, but it also makes it a lot easier for them to be accidentally destroyed during construction. One complaint I have is that I wish that either the set were bigger, or included more pieces. 75 sounds like a lot, but when you take into consideration that many, many of those of pieces are plain little wooden risers/fillers, or small pieces of wall cutout, the 75 is more like 30 big pieces, 20 detail pieces, and 25 pieces that are helpful but not all that interesting. The only other complaint I have (other than the price being prohibitive, in my opinion) is that I wish this set came with a box/storage bag that would be big enough for a young child to easily help out with cleanup.

INFO- For anyone interested the blocks do not have actual cutouts for windows, it is just a darker wood color, but I found it tasteful. The blocks WILL fit back into their original box, but it takes about 5-10 minutes and some actual effort to do so, so don't expect your young child to be capable of it without a lot of help/guidance. The blocks are lightweight as stated, but sturdy and seem rather durable and well made.

I got this set to have at my house for my grandchildren (one of them has Autism). This is by far their favorite "toy". The different shapes are a big hit. My grandchild who has Autism loves to build "towers", "castle" and other items unrelated to "castles". Really helps with his imagination. I am definitely going to get another set, so they can make larger "castles".

These blocks are a MUST for little boys. Forget the video games, this set gets the imagination going! I bought this and a few lego men and he plays with it every day! (My son is 5 years old).

It's currently on clearance at at least two major retailers, for an unbelievably low price. After spending full price online before the holidays, I picked up three more sets because they make great gifts. Essentially, you can't go wrong building with these blocks-- whatever you do with them, they wind up looking like a fancy castle. You can put blocks together randomly and they still make you look like an awesome castle architect.

It's not a huge set, but I don't feel the need to have two sets at my house... my 5-year-old daughter and I have happily built several structures with the one set. Only drawback is that you'll need a container to hold the blocks, because this just comes in a narrow box. (You CAN stuff all the blocks back in it, but it's not meant for storage.)

Because the blocks are small and lightweight, they do take a little coordination to manipulate properly, so I wouldn't recommend the set for toddlers. However, preschoolers and up should do well with them.

I love these blocks! We've had these for about 5 months and they are still a ton of fun. I'd like to say my kids are the only ones that play with them but my husband and I have also been known to build castles with them. 75 pieces isn't enough and I really would like another 75. They are kind of expensive in my opinion but they are a lot of fun. I might give them to one of the "kids" as another present. I look forward to building bigger and better castles (i mean THEM building bigger and better castles!).
