I was skeptical to purchase this because of it's low price and unique design. I can safely say that my fears are gone. This thing is built like a tank. From the packaging to construction quality to design, this things screams quality. It easily holds up my 7D with battery pack, 2 batteries, 320 Ex flash and 24-105L lens. A great buy for a small package and a small price. I will now be looking at their full size tripod. This is the best camera accessory under $20 I have ever purchased.

Unimpressed with this item.Poor screw tightening on ball head screw. Pro version with lever action tightening might be better but I have wasted my money on this Trek-Tech T-Pod.

I am impressed with the quality of the T-Pod. I am using mine as a stabilizer with a Canon HV20 camcorder with a heavy wide angle lens. I wasn't sure if this was going to work since the website is more focused on HDSLR cameras; but not an issue at all. The camera fits nicely on the T-Pod and when used as a tripod it is very stable.

base is good, magnetic mount is meh.,

The base is sturdy. the magnet sticks to the base very well. Solid snap in place. but when you swing over the locking arm its a little meh. It uses a flexable plastic that is supposed to flex because of the grooves in it. And when it locks in place its metal on metal contact. It starts to scratch and chip the magnets. And your left with magnetic shards on the magnet. For the price its not a bad deal. Just put your own ball head on it. I bought this and the extender to get an even higher tripod. Just buy two of these and then you can combine them and have an extra base for the same price.

I used the Trek-Tech T-Pod for a spotting scope. It is very well designed, sturdy and well made. It folds and packs into a small pouch. Has a quick disconnect. I recommend this product.
