Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

Hits the trails in this durable and practical shoe from Treksta. The Timber hiker features a smart Boa lacing system, which creates a custom fit just by turning the dial. The waterproof shoe also features exceptional traction, padded linings, and a low-cut, fabric collar to keep you in stable and in comfort the whole journey through.

From the Manufacturer

Treksta shoes grew out of the frustration of having to buy a different shoe for each season. They logged countless hours hiking and running in various terrains containing hard pack, roots, loose dirt, mud, ice and snow to develop their all-season, all-terrain shoes. They began with world-class materials and construction. Then they added the ultra-efficient BOA lacing system, and placed it atop multi-surface tread patterns imbedded with patent-pending Icegrip technology. Treksta, the first-ever all-season trail shoe was born.

3.0 out of 5 stars TrekSta Timber Hiker, October 31, 2010
This review is from: Treksta Men's Timber Hiker Trail/Adventure Shoe (Apparel)
I took a chance on this shoe with what some would consider new technology. Happily, I can say that the unique lacing system works well to make my foot feel secure without strangulation and is simple to operate with only a thumb and finger. Taking away from that benefit is the fact that the center cap of the tightening dial rattles as you walk, not noticeable when you are outside or wear pants that are long enough to cover the dial. Construction is solid, and the combination of hard and soft rubber on the bottom seems to hold up to daily city walking and weekend dirt trail walking. Super cheap on another bargain outdoor website with a coupon (less than $50) the sizing is pretty accurate (I have a wide foot and had no problem with getting my regular length), and they should hold up for a while if the leather is treated.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good shoe but a little expensive, April 29, 2010

Some people, mostly women, seem to not like the look of this shoe when I wear it. It looks ok to me and what it lacks in athsetics it makes up for in durability and ease of use. The boa technology tie rachet is really nice. I frankly dont know why shoe laces are still used. This shoe is a bit heavy and well insulated and I would recommend its use at less than 90F otherwise your feet may sweat. The whole shoe and especally the heel and bottom half are well made however the top appears as kind of a suade material that could be stained easily although Ive cleaned the shoe easy enough when stained. If you have extra wide feet stay clear of this shoe as it is a bit narrow but if your feet fit then you will enjoy the comfort. The shoe is noisey when walking or running on hard surfaces enough for people to notice so dont use them in quiet areas with hard floors. The reason for the noise is the hard plastic type sole which almost clicks like a tap dance shoe at times on concrete. A bit pricey too.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice but not right for me, January 22, 2011

This was not very comfortable for me, but I did like the style and lace system. I returned them and bought a different style. They are very stable with a wide sole; good for rolling ankles. These shoes seem to run a 1/2 size off, meaning I normally wear a 10 US and the 9.5 was right for me.
