Trembling-overall a good book, June 12, 2010
This review is from: Trembling: Book Two of the Jason and Azazel Trilogy (Paperback)
I have to agree with what others said and that the second book in the trilogy was a little slower the others. However it was still a great book that kept you wondering what was going to happen next. What I like about this series is it looks at the issues that teenagers have to deal with and even though Azazel and Jason have both had to deal with death and betrayel they are still just teenagers trying to find their place. V.J. Chambers did a great job of not giving away some of the characters who you think are good but are not. It's surprising to see who is the good guys and who is the bad. I definately recommend this book as well as the other two in the series.

The adventure continues!, January 20, 2010
This review is from: Trembling: Book Two of the Jason and Azazel Trilogy (Paperback)
I love this entire series. However, of the three books in the series, this is my least favorite. For me this is typical of the middle book in a series. I would definitely advise against reading this one before Breathless; this is one of those series that must be read in order. For me, Trembling was a little too full of teenage drama and I became frustrated with the characters. It seemed the arguments and misunderstanding just kept going back and forth and it got a little redundant in the middle. That being said, it definitely picked up after chapter seven and the final chapters were very intense and gripping. Maybe I was just missing some of the blood and action in the beginning of the book that I came to expect from the series. Is it possible to say I was a little bored during the beginning because not enough people we dying? Huh, that makes me sound a little strange.
Taken as a whole, the series is a must read for anyone who enjoys a good blood-splattered teen romance. These books are far more frank and the characters more believable than most of the stuff out there for young adults. These books are very dark and sometimes disturbing, but that is perosnally something i love about them. This series is not for the faint of heart. I wish the author would turn this into an anime series: it would be the absolutely perfect genre to appreciate both the story and the blood spatter.
