4.0 out of 5 stars Totally fun, dude, January 7, 2009
By K. Berger (San Francisco, CA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I've been a fan of MFE's live shows for a while, and the Tremors EP provides a welcome access to their sound at home. Their music has the range of real life: not just serious, not just silly, not just beautiful, not just ugly, but all of the above. Designer Boyfriend makes me laugh, Teleprompt gives me shivers, and Stupid Baby makes me want to dance (which doesn't happen easily). MFE doesn't just have a sound, they have a personality.

My only complaints stem from the fact that they're even better live...nothing can replace Rebecca's ridiculous dance moves, but a fuller sound in production and more intimate-sounding vocals would represent a nice improvement. Guess I'll wait for the record deal. :-)

5.0 out of 5 stars Buy this album before they get big, January 6, 2009
These guys are the best band to see live in San Francisco!
Everyone goes crazy dancing and singing along to their favorite tracks.

The music is fun, upbeat, the lyrics are great and the singer is cute.
All the makings of a great indie band.

5.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly Good..., January 8, 2009
The music on this EP shows range. The tunes have nice grooves and witty lyrics-- a killer combo. I especially like the keyboards.
