First off i was sceptic about the handle not being made of brass. I was pleseantly suprised when I found cuting into it with a metal saw to be quite difficult.
The blade showed up sharpened but in no way sharp enough for my standards. So far it is holding solid. I did make one change to the blade though. I added serrations to 1/3 of the blade on the handle side. My reasons for needing that is simple as I plan to take this knife on my next deployment. The knife now resides in a Ka-Bar sheath. All in all for the price this is a well refined knife. the sheath it came with sucks yes but thats fixed easy. Its a fine replacement for my USMC ka-bar. For practical or just collector use I recomend this knife.

Built solid. Weight feels good and empowering. Factory edge was a bit dull to my liking, probably for shipping and safety reasons. My only complaint is that my middle and ring finger knuckles are just a bit too large to slide into the knuckles without twisting my fingers slightly. I'll soon remedy that problem with a Dremel tool.
PS, I have big hands, so most won't encounter the same problem I had.

Great Novelty Knife,

This review is from: Wwi Trench Knife Black Blade And Handle (Misc.)
Military antiques are out of my price range so I'm always looking for cheap substitutes. In WW2 the 509th BCT took an M1 Garand bayonet 10" blade and exchanged the handle w/ the brass M1918 trench knife creating a 10" trench knife. Originals are very scarce. This knife creates a modern version @ a cheap price. I do wish it came w/ the hard fiber Garand sheath but that would alos raise the price. I wouldn't carry it to war but it is a nice novelty.
