Great Case , with sensable and unique design for Kindle 2,

I bought this case intrigued by the compartment design for securing the kindle, not like other covers and cases for K2 via 4 corner straps or corner straps in conjunction with hinge mechanism. I am quite pleased by how well the case was made. Here are my reviews 1. The case feels fantastic. The black leather surface is quite smooth and soft. The closure is a snap button. The closure secures the unit well in closing state. 2. Once it is open up, you can slide the kindle 2 easily into its compartment. That is a big selling point for me. The kindle 2 sits tightly in this compartment. The thin internal leather frame covers the kindle 2 well, yet makes all the functionality accessible. The navigation button indicator is embossed in the leather, so you can easily know where to press. This seems to protect Kindle 2 maximally (true to its name, "MaxGuard"), yet maintaining Kindles 2 `s slim look. 3. The left side of the case has small pocket where I can keep some paper to write note while I read. 4. The jacket is surprisingly light. This is another big selling point for me. I have an Oberon cover. The Oberon looks great. However, the Oberon cover is a littler too bulky and heavy for me. So, the lightness in this jacket is another big plus. 5. I also use the grip band at the back of the case a lot. It helps me to keep the device firmly in my hand while I am reading. I also use the band to carry the unit around ( not in the way shown in the photo). I only wish that they have more color choices.

I bought this and it is ok but there are a few caveats. The snap takes some force to close. Recently I failed to snap it completely. I was holding it by the strap and the cover opened and the kindle slid out onto the ground. Nothing holds it in except friction because the case doesn't use the kindle clips.I'm also a bit worried that the cover is not completely rigid in front of the screen. The glass on the kindle is absurdly thin and very fragile. Pressure on the center of the case could still break the screen. It is also hard to push the buttons though the leather. I'm not sure why they didn't just cut out the leather over the buttons.

After getting the Kindle 2, I wanted a cover/jacket to protect the device. I read many reviews and wanted a method to secure the Kindle that1) didn't use the metal clips (with the possibility of cracking the case) or 2) didn't use elastic. The MaxGuard eReader Jacket from TrendyDigital, more that meets those requirements 1) the method used to secure the Kindle is a form-fitting sleeve with cutouts for screen, keyboard, power switch, USB cable and 5-way control. This holds the Kindle very securely yet the Kindle is easily removed 2) the Kindle is on the left side of the folder allowing a notepad to be on the right, in the normal writing position for the right-handed. (Almost every other folder made seems to be for the left-handed.) The MaxGuard eReader Jacket does not add much bulk to the Kindle. In fact, I found holding the bare Kindle to be so thin and small that I was concerned that I would drop it. With the jacket on, I have no such concerns The only, minor, complaint is that the cut outs for the power switch and the 5-way were too small. Using a hand paper punch (the kind used to punch tickets) allowed me to "nibble" the holes to a comfortable size for my large fingers. A black Sharpe made the modification look invisible. This is a "recommend to everyone" purchase.

This was a present for my dad and it was perfect for the price. He is very pleased with the style and he also liked the handle for holding the kindle when reading. The kindle fit perfectly inside the case and is held firmly in place. He also liked the idea of being able to have a pad holder so he can make notes of what books he wants to order next. It turned out to be a great gift.

I have bought 3 other covers and one of them required me to get my Kindle replaced because of cracks caused by the cover. When I found this one I like the looks of it and ordered it. I was very pleased when I received it as it is very eligent looking and the kindle slides into the cover with no metal clips and fits snuggly and secure. I look forward to enjoying this cover for many years.

Cover for Kindle,

This review is from: TrendyDigital MaxGuard eReader Jacket / Carry Case for Amazon Kindle 2, Black (Electronics)
This leather cover for Kindle 2 looks very good, feels very good and fits the Kindle perfectly. Once you put your Kindle in it, I would recommend that you don't remove it anymore, because the cover gets loser and loser every time you remove it. In any case, once you put your Kindle in it, I don't see any reason for you to want to remove it anyway. The only slight problem is that the leather makes Kindle buttons a little more difficult to use (especially the 5-way controller button or whatever it is called), but it is only a matter of time before you get used to it. It is not a major problem for anyone who doesn't have dexterity issues. In short, I recommend it, even though I haven't tried any other covers, so I can't really compare it with other similar products.

I like this cover because it seems to give more protection to the Kindle than the other open-ended book-like covers. The Kindle sits very tight within the frame and the material is really hard both on the front and the back. I do not see how the Kindle could just slip out of this cover as another reviewer noted. It is actually really hard to remove the device once you squeezed it in. The button covers are first a little awkward but one can get used to it.

Not what I'd hoped,

I started out with the Amazon leather cover for the Kindle 2 and was initially pleased with the way the new Kindle "latched" into the cover. Over time, this connection loosened so the Kindle kept slipping out of the cover. I purchased this cover to try to remedy the situation, and from the point of view of staying in the cover it was good. My complaint is that the Kindle's side buttons are covered by leather and are not particularly responsive to touch.I've purchased a third cover, and will review it once I've used it for a while.

I have been using the TredyDigital cover for several weeks. It is very functional. The cover folds back to allow easy reading on one's lab or on a reading stand of an exercise bike, which where I do most of my reading. All of the function keys are accessible without having to alter the cover in any way. I can recommend it without reservation.

Found this Kindle cover to be an excellent value for the $. Easy to push the buttons through the leather covering. Folds back nicely. The hand hold on the back is nice for a change but I find I'd rather fold it over. I very much over analyzed Kindle covers and am glad I chose this one.
