good but a little confusing,

This review is from: Tres Mujeres (DVD)
very good novela! I love the Spanish novela's but hate that they get cut. I understand that they are quite long but i would much rather pay more for the dvd's and see the whole thing as some of it got confusing as it got pretty jumpy and was obvious some was missing. The novela itself it great and i love that they have the english subtitles.

I really liked this novela when it was on tv, but I think video was a bad rendition of it. I understand the original was too long and needed to be cut, but I don't think the editing was done well. So much was taken out that the story line ends up being confusing if one has not seen the original. It is also hard to really get attached to the characters or the storyline this way, so it's almost pointless to watch it at all. I guess it is ok for someone who has seen the original and just wants to own a copy of the video to be reminded of the novela, but for a first-time viwer this is a waste of time! I was also disappointed they didn't include the original soundtrack with Ricardo Arjona "Desnuda". It was a much better song than the obscure piece that was included in the video. I wonder why they changed that (maybe Arjona didn't give them permission?).

This a great Novela,I also understand that was very long,But to many parts were cut and it made the novela very short. It is still a good novela to have on dvd, it focuses on all the main parts.

a truly great telenovela,

This is a review of the telenovela itself, which just ended on a late-night Univision rebroadcasting. This is where I saw Tres Mujeres, not on the abridged DVD.
When it first replaced Amada Enemiga on the light-night lineup, I didn't think that I would like Tres Mujeres. But, as with any good telenovela, it got me hooked. What strikes me most is how natural the acting is, as well as the script. Since most telenovelas last only a few months, and Spanish-language networks air so many a day, there are lots of duds that arrive off the factory line, with cartoony acting, bad dialogue, etc. Tres Mujeres, by contrast, feels like a labor of love. It seems that many out there felt that Tres Mujeres lasted too long. Since it became a surprise hit when originally aired, the decision was made to add something like sixty more episodes. Yes, it dragged a little at times, but never so much that I lost interest. Honestly, the only damper was having to catch it at one o'clock in the morning, for the late-night rebroadcast. There were plenty of cliffhangers to keep me intrigued. In addition to being well-produced, Tres Mujeres was also well-cast. Norma Herrera's Greta character was a great creation; perhaps a little over-the-top at times, but always fun to watch. I like Norma Herrera so much that it disappointed me to see her play such a subdued character in Barrera de Amor last year. It's great to see that such a good telenovela got the support it deserved. A number of notable actors joined Tres Mujeres as the plot developed, such as Niurka, Dominika Paleta, Eduardo Verastegui, etc. Yes, there were elements that I didn't like, such as Sebastian and Fatima's constant make-up, break-up. I also hated that one of the central characters dies in the next-to-last episode. Still, the final episode (mostly) ties up all the loose ends, and makes you reflect on the goodness of life.

This is a good novela that starts out kind of slow but gets more interesting as the plots develops turning pretty good at the end. The novela was very well put together and easy to follow. I just wish it was a little bit longer or like someone else said in a review I'll be more than happy to pay more for the full version of this novelas.
