5.0 out of 5 stars Just One More Turn.. June 7, 2011
Verified Purchase
This app/game is as good as it gets. Interesting, fun, ad-free, and it has a variety of tasks to complete or goals to set. You can explore "wild" planets, fight other ships, trade with worlds, spy on factions... lots to do. There are also unlockable goals which open up new ship upgrades or new starting ships, and several different difficulty levels so that you can set the right level of challenge. All of this for the current price of free... it just doesn't get any better.

Apparently, there is also an upgrade which makes the world larger, adds more planets and unlockable challenges/upgrades for a couple of bucks. I forsee myself paying for it in the near future. Even without the upgrade, however, I feel that I've barely scratched the surface of this game... the upgrade would just be extra icing on the already delicious cake. I haven't felt like I'm "missing" anything by not having the upgrade, however. This really is not a "lite" or test version of the game. Truthfully, this free version is better than many other paid apps/games I've played. Download it and give it a whirl, I doubt you'll regret it... (unless you stay up too late playing, and thats your own fault)

5.0 out of 5 stars Lots of fun! May 30, 2011

Brings me back to my teens, playing TradeWars on the local WWIV BBSes. It isn't much of a casual game, but I don't mind at all. Most of the apps I find are short attention-span style games. This one is one of those that you really get to spend some time in.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Mobile RPG for hardcore gamers May 24, 2011

All of the variety of the cookie cutter rpg's was fun for a while. This is the deepest RPG experience I've seen on Android. And its tailored perfectly for the platform.... it's like a digital version if the old school pen & paper rpg's. Very much worth it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best android game I ever played September 10, 2011

This 2D game lets you take control of your own starship which you can use to explore tons of interesting planets and dark stretches of space. The graphics and artwork are simple but cool. You customize your character by upgrading certain traits as you gain XP like strength, stealth, etc. You can also buy tons of different starships and upgrade them which is fun (you can only control one though). Encounters with enemy ships are 1D but still cool. You can fire torpedoes and guns and you can even ram or board and take control of other ships. You can steal their cargo or enslave their crew if you win boarding which is awesome. There are various factions in the galaxy and you can build good or bad reputations with them. Money can be gained by selling cargo on planets or completing contracts for factions. There is a loose backstory about AIs that long ago brought man to the stars but then went rougue. You can find their artifacts around the galaxy but the robots themselves seem to have dissapeared. While this is a great game, my single greatest complaint is that the plot is really loose and cant be explored much. There is no campaign at all. You just fly around the galaxy exploring planets and doing jobs for people that seem random and dont further any sort of plot. After I had played for a few weeks and upgraded my character a ton and got the best ship I got a little bored. This game is very fun especially for space/scifi people, but it can get a bit repetitive after a while. Hopefully a campaign or something will be released later. I highly recommend this game as it will keep you entertained for at least a while and you'll have a lot of fun. I downloaded the elite edition too for $1 and I think its a great deal because you get a lot of new ships and space to explore as well as new ship upgrades.

2.0 out of 5 stars usability sucks April 13, 2012

This game is exactly what I wanted but its way too hard to play. Too many actions required for even simple tasks. For example to look at a map takes FOUR clicks. AND the map is located on the cargo screen of all places took me forever to find it. I like the game but it needs more thought on usability.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good game October 12, 2013

You start off with a basic ship, You can assume one of many roles (such as pirate or captain), and you can join one of like 6 alliances in the game. Not really much of a story and the missions (contracts) are generic and repetitive but each contract you do effects your status for an alliance. Like you can do a contract that helps you with one alliance but hurts you in another, I like that.

There are plenty of ships and updates to buy, As well as improving your rank within the alliances in the game. It takes a little to get use to but the learning curve is small, It's actually quite a fun game once you get use to it. That being said, There are a few problems with bugs that will make the game freeze and cause me to shut down and start up my kindle again if I want to get the app to work properly, That is an issue they really need to fix. Also, Adding more contract varieties would be a plus as well.

One thing I'd like to point out is that there is a paid version for this app. It costs 2 dollars and you get a ton more ships, upgrades, and planets to explore. That being said, You don't have to buy it. I have played this free version for many hours and have never felt the need to upgrade, It's not something you are force to do. You can enjoy the free version of the game just as much as the paid.

Overall, There are a few problems but nothing that can't be fixed. This app is actually quite fun to play and I would highly recommend it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Wanted to love it, but...
I love Cyber Knights and I love trading games, so I thought I'd enjoy this one. Unfortunately, it is far too easy to get killed and far too hard to advance.

5.0 out of 5 stars kudos to the designers
Totally addicting. You don't have to buy it to get endless play but I'm going to upgrade to the pro version just for the sake of supporting a fun, well made app.
