Biography

If Trevor Hall’s 2009 self-titled Vanguard Records debut represented the young musician’s struggle with finding himself, his follow-up, Everything Everytime Everywhere (August 23rd) is a courageous affirmation that he has become the man he had been seeking. The warm linearity of his prior work gives way to a mature artist hitting his stride, an image that persists throughout this body of work,… Read more in Amazon's Trevor Hall Store

4.0 out of 5 stars Rolling Stone and All Music Have It Wrong!, September 4, 2009
This review is from: Trevor Hall (Audio CD)
I actually think Rolling Stone and All Music got it wrong. This is a four star album. Like a compelling photograph, its beauty lies in its simplicity. In the troubled world we live in, Trevor's music can only be described as a ray of hope. With a strong spiritual undercurrent, his message is undeniable, and will move you to tears. I think the reviewer heard what Trevor was saying and read the lyrics, but was not truly listening or seeing. Higher meaning and true spiritual freedom can only be found when you look deep into your own heart and soul and open yourself up to all the possibilities--and Trevor has done exactly that by channeling the experiences he had in India along with his current experiences living with Monks in California. Actually, Trevor turns out very few words but is saying a lot. Musically, there is a lot to love, and his unique and powerful voice and well-crafted songs only add to the intoxicating quality of this winning album--especially when coupled with his profound message of peace, love and unity. Listening to this album will cleanse the soul and lift the spirits--but only if you are receptive and not intimidated by what he has to say. Who would have thought that a skinny white boy from South Carolina could be capable of such depth.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Album, August 31, 2009
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Trevor Hall (Audio CD)
I first heard of Trevor Hall when I saw him open for a band in Solana Beach, California. I was blown away by his show. I am not normally a huge reggae fan, but his energy, lyrics, passion, and musical talent is amazing. This album is one that I will be listening to over and over. Buy this album, and do you best to see Trevor Hall live!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Unique Trip, July 28, 2009
This review is from: Trevor Hall (Audio CD)
Trevor's album is a mellow journey through an old soul filled with hope and love for all humanity. He writes from his heart and it shows. There is enough reggae influence to make his sound unique, but enough pop/rock to make the sounds easy to digest. A definite winning album, full of good songs instead of just one or two good singles and the rest filler. Although this is a debut album for him on Vanguard, Hall has been writing and performing for years, collaborating with Matisyahu, Colbie Caillat, and Krishna Das on this album alone ("Unity," "The Lime Tree, and ""Volume," respectively). This album is great for anyone looking for a fresh, standout sound.
