5.0 out of 5 stars Better than goose grease!, August 28, 2009
This review is from: Triflow TriFlow Superior Lube (Misc.)
I was first introduced to Tri-Flow by a compound bow manufacturer in Albuquerque. He explained to me that it lubricated two ways, with the light penetrating oil and with tiny flakes of Teflon (i.e. You cannot see them it just looks milky.). The oil also acts as a transport mechanism for the Teflon. After lubricating something - you wipe off the excess oil and the Teflon stays inside. It works great on firearms, locks, fishing reels, cameras, firearms, and car door hinges, too. For example: I drive daily on long and very dusty roads. I used to have to oil my hinges monthly with WD40. I now use Tri-Flow about twice a year. I own a 1983 Ford ¾ ton pickup truck. It came equipped with a variable venturi carburetor, a California configuration. I went to the Ford dealership for a tune up. The technician first question to me was how much trouble the choke had been giving me. He explained to me that this type of carb was apparently designed by an engineer who had never lived in a sandy environment! Just ONE grain of sand would keep the choke open. The Ford mechanic, who had been to specialty classes on this carb, could hardly believe I was having no problem with mine. It had been nothing but trouble for his dealership in dusty southern New Mexico. I told him that when I bought the truck it worked fine until winter, when it needed to be choked to start. When I found the choke was sticking, I cleaned off the varnish accumulation on the top of the carb and sprayed it with WD40. This worked until the WD40 cooked off from engine heat, then I had trouble starting again. The next time I sprayed it with Tri-Flow (Ta Da!) Problem solved! The oil was gone and the Teflon remained. It allowed the variable venturi to "float". I had to use Tri-Flow at the beginning of every winter after that. He was unfamiliar with the product which had only been out a few years. So, I brought him a small can to use. The mechanic discounted the work he was doing on my truck as a thank you! I feel sure he more than made up for it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great results, January 10, 2011
By
I installed Baldwin Locks in store-front aluminum doors. After about 15 years of use in a dry climate (SCal), the locks and deadbolts began to stick or become impossible to turn.

My wife, thinking that I would have to take them to a locksmith for repair, pulled one apart. She put it back together without solving the problem. I took the lock to a local locksmith. He said he could save me a lot of money. He took a can of Tri-Flow Superior Lubricant and sprayed the lock's mechanism without disassembling anything. After a few moments of rapidly turning the latches and loosening them up, they worked like a gem. I don't know or care how it works, but it sure does.

In 30-some years of marriage, this may be the only thing I've gotten right.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best product in the market, August 17, 2009
By
I have used this on my road bikes, door hinges, pad locks, gliding rocking chairs, garage doors, fishing reels, door knobs, and many other household areas and it's the best product I've ever used. W.D. 40 is good for cleaning and rust purposes but Tri-Flow lubricates the heck out of stuff. You'll be satisfied, trust me, you can't go wrong. Best of luck.

4.0 out of 5 stars Riding dirty, November 8, 2011
By

OK, few things stir emotions as much as chain lube I've learned so I'll keep this brief. It's like talking about politics with your republican grandparents, or gay marriage with your fundamentalist christian in-laws.

I'll be comparing this to white lightning clean ride wax lube. I swore by white lightning til I used this stuff. I still sort of do, but this is a fine lube if you can get past the fact that it picks up dirt like Lindsay Lohan picks up DUI's.

I truly believe that it's the highest performing lube I've used to date. It's just smooth like that. It glides! But it's super duper messy, even when ya use a little. White lightning ain't messy when applied properly. This stuff lasts, and lasts. This lube has staying power. It has STAMINA. Even when it gets really wet out there, this lube will ride right through that mess.

So it's a smoother lube than white lightning but it's super dirty. I use it on my cables and things as well and it seems to ease shifting a noticeable bit. I will use white lightning whenever I feel like it still - variety is the spice of life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for bike chains!, February 9, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I have used this on my mountain bike after a dirty ride and subsequent wash under the outdoor hose, and have repaired my son's small bicycle chain with it as well. Messy indoors, so use out. Good supply in each can. I'm planning on keeping well-stocked.

5.0 out of 5 stars Most optimal for commute and recreation, July 2, 2010
PROS:
- stays on a chain for two weeks of everyday commute under dry condition and one week under wet condition
- does not attract dust when applied properly (look at Youtube for instructions), so there practically no grease accumulation on moving parts
- protects cables and not moving parts from corrosion

CONS:
(ask competitive cyclists - they may feel the difference)

5.0 out of 5 stars It has a million uses but my bikes love it the best!, January 28, 2012
This is the best lubricant to use on your bike chain for quiet operation and rust protection. It has a deep penetrating action to reach every part of the chain. It even comes with a thin tube that fits into nozzle to apply a few drops to the chain. It will extend the life of the chain and of the gear derailleur systems.

The built in solvents soften and remove dirt and contaminants while displacing water to prevent rust and corrosion. It does not leave behind a layer of grease to collect and hold dirt and sand and act as an abrasive to the bikes chain and gear system.

Tri-flow® reduces chain and gear cog wear. It is also great for the rear derailleur to maintain crisp and accurate gear changes and to keep all of the components moving smoothly. It also works on the front derailleur system the same way.

Tri-flow® contains petroleum lubricants and Teflon® particles so make sure to shake it well before you use it. I use it to maintain my bikes. It has many other applications and just like it states on the label, it is a superior lubricant.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lubricant for bicycle chain, November 9, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Triflow TriFlow Superior Lube (Misc.)
I bought the larger size (6 oz size) drip Triflow Superior Lube for lubricating my bicycle chain. It was delivered on schedule without any problems. I have used Triflow before, so I was aware that it is one of the better lubes for use on bicycle chains because it contains Teflon.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best for the job, February 24, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Years ago I used Tri-Flow as a lube for my hand guns. Then I moved and misplaced it. Finally I found it again here at Amazon and am happy to say it is still the best product I know of for the job.
